The Corporate Responsibility Department is looking for an entry-level professional who is interested in being part of a team responsible for the company’s social and philanthropic impact efforts including workforce engagement, philanthropic investments, and social impact initiatives. We are seeking someone who wants to support the work of a company having a positive impact on local communities and the environment.
This is a fast-paced role that requires the ability to be agile, multitask, set priorities, and meet demanding deadlines. This role requires excellent writing, editing and communication skills as this person interacts with employees, agents, and external stakeholders on a daily basis.
Communications Support Lead:
- Draft internal and external communications collateral (decks, newsletters, fliers, factsheets, talking points, award submissions, etc.)
- Manage CRD/Foundation communication calendar:
- documenting all communication needs, deliverables, and outcomes for the CRD/Foundation department
- Tracking internal and external opportunities (including conferences, workshops, speaking engagements, awards)
- Manage the CRD/Foundation sections on our communication platforms and websites by ensuring the content remains current and engaging via weekly schedule of content updates
- Serve as the intake lead with a variety of teams across the Company and external partners as it relates to CRD/Foundation communication engagement
- Support efforts to track goals and metrics for communication and reporting
Support Foundation and Corporate Grantmaking through:
- Grants management support for grantmaking including research, follow-up with nonprofit applicants on proposals and requests, writing brief materials and recommendation drafts, compile metrics, etc.
- Support the day-to-day management of the Community Impact Grants program: a grants program that recognizes local philanthropic leadership of our workforce
- Assist with managing various components of and related tasks associated with grantor-grantee relationships under the direction of senior staff:
- support grant activities to ensure that deliverables are implemented in accordance with approved grant parameters
- support the grant relationship manager
- summarize meetings with grantees
- draft and finalize correspondence for initiatives/projects
- document project events and milestones
- compile reports and metrics
- assist Volunteer Manager with outreach strategy to mobilize New York Life’s agents and employees with select grantees
- Other support as needed
General Support:
- Support special requests/events as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Sociology, or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite is essential (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), expertise a plus
- Working knowledge in grants and/or volunteer management software and database software (Tableau) a plus
- Experience with social media management and content creation
- Background and/or interest in corporate responsibility, philanthropy, nonprofits, and/or communications
- Willingness to learn and take on new projects as needed
- Highly developed organizational skills, including ability to muti-task
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexibility to handle change and interact with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment
- Desire to work in a corporate social responsibility and foundation function
- Graphic design a plus (Adobe, InDesign, etc.)

Salary range: $58,500-$75,000
