Job Summary:
ERII is seeking a qualified candidate for an immediate full-time job opening for the position of Cost Accounting Manager. This position reports to the Senior Cost Accounting Manager and will be responsible for all cost accounting activities including but not limited to maintaining the inventory accounting system, applying principles of cost accounting, supporting business partners in reporting/analysis/forecasting and budgeting, and recommending improvements in production and implementing approved recommendations. The function is also responsible for developing, interpreting and analyzing complex financial and accounting concepts & techniques for financial planning and control related to manufacturing.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist Management in driving operational efficiency, cost reductions, profitability improvement and process improvement through product cost accuracy and product line reporting of manufacturing costs which support business decision-making.
- Review and analyze financial information related to COGS, Gross Margin and Inventory to determine present and future financial performance, including evaluating Product Line Gross Margin results, and prepare reports.
- Prepare cost accounting, inventory entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, margin analysis, reserve review, audit support, and reporting for monthly and quarterly closes, ensuring that transactions and reports are in accordance with GAAP and internal reporting policies.
- Responsible for accuracy of all COGS and inventory accounts, working with manufacturing departments to research issues, to correct errors, and to implement best practices.
- Responsible for allocation of indirect overhead, updating standard costs, analysis of under-/over-absorption of overhead, overhead capitalization, PPV, inventory reserves including excess & obsolete reserves, warranty reserves, inventory in transit, analysis of Work in Process and Work Order variances, RMAs, deferred COGS, scrap analysis.
- Lead the preparation of manufacturing budgets and forecasts.
- Support inventory count and on-going cycle counts.
- Establish strong cross-functional relationships to gather historical, real time, and forecast information about the manufacturing operations of the business for use in modeling.
- Work closely with IT to develop, publish, and analyze various financial and operational reports and business intelligence dashboards.
- Identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly.

Skills & Requirements:
- BS or BA in Accounting, Finance or Managerial Accounting.
- Proficient in GAAP and manufacturing processes.
- Minimum of 5+ years cost accounting experience.
- Experience with manufacturing cost systems in publicly-traded company strongly preferred.
- Proficient with Cost Accounting in Dynamics 365, with in-depth knowledge of cost and inventory reporting, Item Master, BOMs, Work Orders, Routing, WIP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and BI skills.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to produce accurate reports, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize against deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as ability to cross-collaborate with all departments and levels within the Company.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to effectively explain detailed and complex analysis to Executive team in terms of business problems and to recommend solutions in a clear and concise manner.
- Proactive, self-directed person who can take initiative with excellent follow-through who requires minimal direction or supervision.
$60 – $75 an hour
The below range is the range that we reasonably believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California. This range may be modified in the future. The salary range for this role is $60.00 to $75.00.
