About the Role

The Ads & Delivery Marketing Legal team partners with the rapidly growing Ads business and the Delivery businesses at Uber to advise on Advertising, Digital Media, Consumer Protection, and Marketing & Advertising Law issues.

We are looking for an exceptional Alcohol lawyer to be the go-for for the Ads & Marketing Legal Team. We are looking for someone who has expertise in all things Alcohol law and especially in alcohol related advertising and marketing issues including complex advertising campaigns, initiatives, and activations across multiple media, promotions, and offers, and negotiating partnership and sponsorship agreements. You’ll work closely with teams globally throughout Uber, including Legal, Marketing, Ad Sales, Product, Policy, and Comms, to play a critical part in our business, constantly innovate and promote the brand and communicate to consumers, merchants, couriers, and the public at large about products, and services.

What You’ll Do

– Be the go-to for all the things Alcohol Marketing Law on the Ads & Marketing Legal Team
– Provide ongoing legal support for various marketing and advertising activities across our Alcohol Ads & Marketing work for Uber and Drizly. You’ll focus your advice on Ads & Offers, Promotional Campaigns, and CPG ad-buying agreements (IAB based terms and conditions, upfront agreements etc.).
– Be the point person for Marketing Law in the US for other restricted item verticals.
– Collaborate with other lawyers on the team, business partners, and legal groups, with strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others who may think differently than you do.
– Update and maintain marketing playbooks and guidelines based on applicable laws, rules, and regulatory guidance.
– Collaborate on and draft internal training on relevant issues.
– Work with senior stakeholders to implement changes in internal processes.

Basic Qualifications:

– A minimum of (5) five years of experience in alcohol-related marketing & advertising work
– J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state.

Preferred Qualifications:

– Experience with Ad Sales or Buying.
– Experience reviewing and advising on consumer protection, marketing legal issues & advertising campaigns across mediums.
– Excellent business judgment, ability to build credibility, great communication, and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently to get the job done.
– Confidence and flexibility to operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $176,000 per year – $195,000 per year.

For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $176,000 per year – $195,000 per year.

For Miami, FL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $176,000 per year – $195,000 per year.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $195,000 per year – $216,500 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $195,000 per year – $216,500 per year.

For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $176,000 per year – $195,000 per year.

For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $195,000 per year – $216,500 per year.
