Court Improvement Program Analyst (Temporary)

The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking to fill the position of a Temporary Court Improvement Program Analyst in the Children & Families Section. The Court Improvement Program Analyst coordinates, prepares, and submits federal Court Improvement Program Grant applications and program reports.

What You’ll Do:

  • Accurately prepare applications and reports, monitor implementation, track expenditures. Manage contract agreements and monitor expenditures and completion of contract deliverables that support the work of the Court’s child and family law programs;
  • Staff local court personnel meetings to share resources and preferred practices as assigned;
  • Assist with staffing the Advisory Committee on Children and Families and other committees and workgroups as assigned. Staffing these meetings may involve activities such as preparing an agenda with the chair(s), documenting meeting minutes, facilitating discussion, arranging for guest presenters, and making presentations;
  • Maintain accurate records related to assigned projects;
  • Participate in regular meetings of the Division’s Child and Family Law staff in order to coordinate activities;
  • Review current literature, attends conferences, meetings and training sessions to develop professionally;
  • Make presentations to small and large groups and at professional conferences, as assigned;
  • Monitor new trends and best practices relative to child and family law, specifically abuse, neglect, and dependency proceedings and disseminate information to local courts;
  • Assist with the updating and development of court publications;
  • Participate and assists with a variety of special projects as requested.

Qualifications
What we’re looking for:

  • Law degree or master’s degree required with a focus in public administration, public policy, social work or a related field preferred. Four years work experience related to child welfare which demonstrates progressive grant, fiscal and social program administration responsibly required.
  • Requires a basic knowledge of child abuse, neglect and dependency court proceedings and child welfare practices, intermediate to advanced knowledge preferred; intermediate knowledge of strategic planning and the implementation of a continuous quality improvement approach to program implementation.
  • Requires grant writing and administration experience.
  • Requires intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Requires demonstrated ability to effectively use outcome data to manage multiple projects.
  • Requires the ability to effectively make presentations to small and large groups in both informal and formal settings.
  • Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information in order to continually improve program outcomes.
