Position classification: Hybrid — Job duties and expectations allow for onsite and remote work scheduled every week. Employees in this classification are regularly scheduled onsite one (1) to four (4) days per week based on the County needs and as determined by Department Director. Hybrid classified roles can be onsite more than the set minimum based on employee preference.
What Success Looks Like In This Job
The COVID-19 Community Resources Coordinator maintains and builds relationships with community partners to reduce inequities in COVID-19 services such as testing, supportive services, and access to reliable information. This person will coordinate COVID-19 outreach in priority areas, support COVID-19 needs of community-based organizations and engage with and listen to the community to inform additional COVID-19 strategies to facilitate incorporating COVID-19 into routine Health Department operations.
Examples of Duties for Success
- With the assistance of the Communicable Disease Manager and Director of Epidemiology and Data Science, provides leadership and coordination to the COVID-19 staff for the COVID-19 work listed below.
- The COVID-19 Community Strategist supports activities within the COVID-19 team which may include partner event support, test kit distribution, development of materials and website content related to COVID-19 self-management and community testing sites, and distribution of COVID-19 related resources for Adams County residents and partner agencies.
- Assist in developing cross-divisional strategies to define roles within the health department that continue and expand resource referral and coordination for residents into routine health department operations.
- Works with leadership and process improvement staff to develop strategies to integrate COVID-19 activities into daily routine Health Department operations.
- Continually assesses changing needs, locations or populations with priority needs, and community resources to align work activities.
- Provides strategic leadership while collaborating with COVID-19, health department, and county staff and programs.

Education and Experience:
- Requires graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Experience utilizing Smartsheet, Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) in a workplace setting and conducting administrative tasks.
- Experience within Public Health and the understanding the current landscape of COVID-19 is preferred.
- Experience working with community partners and organizations within Adams County
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work with be a hybrid work environment with work at home, Adams County Government Center, Adams County Human Services Center, and across the community at partner events. Work is both conducted indoors and outside environment. Incumbent will experience routine exposure to hazards of a typical office environment. Requires travel between Adams County offices and to locations in the surrounding community for events and meetings. May be required to work outside regular hours to attend meetings or events.
- Occasional moderate lifting and carrying objects up to 15 pounds.
- Occasional use of automobile, usually no more than one hour at a time.
- Requires sufficient hearing and speech ability to communicate verbally in response to inquiries, to conduct needs assessments and evaluations, and to speak to groups of people in presentations.
- Requires sufficient writing ability to fluidly and accurately communicate needs in grants and program development.
- Requires manual dexterity to operate computer equipment.
Employees in this benefit class are eligible based on the number of hours worked and the duration of employment.
Employees who work within the parameters below are eligible to participate in the 457b deferred compensation plan:
- Duration – 3 months or less
- Weekly Hours – Any
- Break in Service Requirement – 13 weeks
OR
- Duration – Up to 12 months
- Weekly Hours – 29 or less hours
- Break in Service Requirement – 13 weeks
Employees who work within the parameters below are eligible to participate in the the medical plan for the employee and child(ren) only as well as the 457b deferred compensation plan:
- Duration – At least 3 months and up to 12 months
- Weekly Hours – 30 or more
- Break in Service Requirement – 13 weeks
