Creative Director, Prime Brand Design Team

We are looking for a kick-ass design leader and creative mind to partner our GCDs in driving a consistent brand vision for Amazon and Prime. This design lead role falls under Amazon’s global brand design team, bringing exceptional ideas with a high level of craft to global and partner teams.

Key job responsibilities

The Prime Brand Design team is looking for an experienced designer whose passion for design is matched by flawless presentation and smart execution. The ideal candidate works fast, is able to quickly discern the needs of a project, and responds to creative briefs with fresh ideas and strategic design systems. They are a design thinker, motivated to develop the best solution for every challenge, regardless of scope, length or budget. They professionally present their work, with enthusiasm for both inspired creative and logical thinking. They have experience working across multiple marketing channels and understand the complexities and creative implications of a global brand.

The ideal candidate will be expected to effectively interpret creative briefs, and develop bar-raising creative for visual brand systems, onsite experiences, and campaigns across a variety of Prime benefits and Amazon categories. They are a problem solver with strong bias for action and with an entrepreneurial spirit of constantly looking to develop practices to harness new ways of thinking. They work well under pressure, are always ready to roll up their sleeves and are also comfortable directing other designers to execute at a high bar to quickly develop creative across digital platforms, broadcast, print, out of home and social channels. They are comfortable leading brainstorms and collaborating with a team of designers, writers, and art directors, as well as working with a network of motion designers, photographers, directors, and marketing professionals to deliver exceptional brand systems and experiences to be seen by millions of customers world-wide.

A day in the life

As the Creative Director, you will partner our Global CD and ECD to bring exceptional ideas to life through our brand design. You will be expected to direct a small team of designers in collaboration with our program managers, production, motion and media teams. You will play a pivotal role in advocating for our brand, organization and people to various partners within Amazon.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 8+ years of relevant professional experience driving compelling creative strategy and execution at an agency or in-house creative team.

– Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– A portfolio demonstrating systematic brand and identity development scaling across multiple touch points.

– Effectively develop cross functional relationships with product, consumer research and marketing teams to develop strategy and consumer insights that drive compelling creative executions.

– Lead creative development of innovative creative from concept to delivery.

– Experience managing creative (internal team of designers, copywriters, external agencies and freelancers)

– Present creative concepts effectively to senior executives

– Experience managing multiple projects and the ability to meet aggressive deadlines

– Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote

– Experience developing on digital campaigns for O&O channels that have global scale

– Experience creating brand guidelines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
