What You’ll Do as an Administrative Professional 4:

Ohio Department of Public Safety – Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center

Report in location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223

Under direct supervision of the Law Enforcement Project Manager 2 of the Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center (ONIC) perform non-routine administrative duties (e.g., attend off site meetings dealing with task force operations; serve as the point of contact for the law enforcement community on general inquires related to the ONIC; assist with off-site Taskforce & regional ONIC office audits); Serve as the subject matter expert & point of contact for the law enforcement community for future Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) data sharing & records management systems administered by the ONIC; Facilitate & coordinate RecoveryOhio conference calls, meetings & communications; Provide support to ONIC Management, Public Safety Intelligence personnel, Forensic Computer staff & investigators (e.g., coordinate & handle incoming/outgoing forensic digital evidence; update master inventory database; coordinate meetings & handle non-routine administrative tasks for all ONIC management); Prepare training presentations for the law enforcement community; Plan sponsored conferences & training events related to law enforcement & criminal justice issues; Gather & prepare statistics; Attend off-site meetings dealing with current drug problems & trends; Draft & respond to Drug Task Force inquiries from the general public, law enforcement organizations, etc. via phone or email; Communicate decisions & directives to appropriate staff; Provide assistance gathering information for the National Guard monthly intel report; Represent supervisor at meetings &/or conferences with other agencies; Manage business functions of regional ONIC office (e.g., assigned fleet to include mileage, maintenance schedules, audits; complete reports, memos & evaluations; office resources, purchases & equipment; maintain contact database).

Independently answer & respond to complex &/or confidential inquiries pertaining to the ONIC (e.g., prepare & issue correspondence regarding ONIC policies, regulations &/or programs; develop & maintain relationships; facilitate tips to partner agencies; coordinate, prepare & edit bulletins & briefings; manage websites & social media accounts); Develop & implement new procedures related to established program policies (e.g., criminal intelligence reporting & follow-up; research & report on trends & anomalies; coordinate & attend outreach conferences & meetings with partners); Assume responsibility & authority in administrator’s absence; Serve as liaison between administrator & public/private partners; Provide technical advice to aid administrator in decision making regarding ONIC program policies, procedures, regulations &/or directives.

Perform administrative tasks (e.g., prepare confidential reports & correspondence utilizing a personal computer; schedule meetings; maintain confidential files; maintain calendar & make travel arrangements; assist Administrative Professional staff within the ODPS Director’s Office; input & retrieve timekeeping or payroll information; attend Drug Task Force meetings & transcribe & disseminate minutes; handle sensitive phone calls; channel incoming phone calls to appropriate section); Perform clerical tasks (e.g., receive, open, log, & distribute incoming mail; answer & screen phone calls, greet & direct visitors); Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; 12 mos. exp. in secretarial/administrative professional field.

-Or 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.

-Or 12 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 2,16872.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
