Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 1+ year(s) Power and Cooling Infrastructure industry experience in a datacenter or other critical environment facility,
- OR 2+ years Power and Cooling Infrastructure industry experience and Critical Environments related college course work.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, Air Handling Unit {AHU}) and Information technology (IT) infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling).
- Bachelor’s Degree or Technical College certification in mechanical or electrical engineering and/or services
- 4+ years Experience working on large scale CE construction projects
Data Center Operations Management IC3 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,400 – $154,100 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $102,700 – $169,200 per year.

Responsibilities:
Data Center Operations
- Ensures compliance with data center business units and service-level policies regarding p ower and cooling at our datacenters .
- Engages with appropriate teams and resources to review power and cooling infrastructure tasks or projects to gauge potential impacts to Operations.
- Manages power and cooling infrastructure programs associated with area of responsibility.
- Demonstrates conscientiousness on cost adheres to budget requirements; keeps costs reasonable and contributes to staying within budget.
- Follows and adheres to safety and security policies and procedures. Reports immediately any safety or security issues or concerns.
- Participates in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process as appropriate for power and cooling issues.
Service Delivery
- Maximize Critical Environments (CE) availability relating to power and cooling with our landlord partners at our leased Datacenters and to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in our leased Datacenters (Power and Cooling Method of Procedures[MOP]/Standard Operating Procedure[SOP]/Emergency Operating Procedure[EOP] review, Root Cause Analysis[RCAs], Failure Mode Effects Analysis[FMEAs], change governance, and risk mitigation ) across a specified region.
- Reduce high-impact and human-error Critical Environments (CE) incidents for power and cooling distribution year over year, reviewing proposed projects and maintenance, assessing risk , and related processes.
- Support delivery of the Datacenter’s Emergency Preparedness and Response plans and act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within our leased datacenters.
- Coordinate, plan, schedule, and supervise Critical Environments Power and Cooling audits and compliance verification as needed.
- Ensure delivery of and routine reporting is in place to effectively manage and analyze our Power/Temperature/Relative Humidity, and Service Level Agreement( SLA) monitoring.
- Establish and enhance working relationships and engagement with our Engineering Groups (EGs), and Landlord partners for CE, including contributing to Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews [MBRs, QBRs]
- Work with regional and global peers to share and build Critical Environments (CE) best practices across the entire EDGE datacenter portfolio.
- Provides and participates as EDGE Critical Environments (CE) Subject Matter Expert[ SME] for Power and Cooling needs, is the point of contact to teammates and partners for initiatives and reviews.
Data Center Work Environment
- Shares best practices for power and cooling; assists others in learning role, process, procedures.
- Provides mentorship across data centers for specific Critical Environments power and cooling expertise .
- Seeks Critical Environments training opportunities that meet the interest of the business as well as own career goals and objectives .
- Suggests ways for reducing risk of performing power and cooling maintenance; works with others to accommodate scheduling needs.
- Suggests improvements in implementation based on depth of understanding.
- Contributes to a positive team environment by learning and adopting best practices regarding power and cooling distribution.
- Contributes constructively during team meetings and in cross-disciplinary collaborations within the service team.
