CRM Systems & Enrollment Analyst

Under the direction of the Senior Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Education and the Associate Provost for Graduate Education, OGE partners with deans, academic units, graduate student government (GSG) and University governance on graduate student recruitment and retention, fellowships and financial aid, academic assessment, and program review to continually improve the quality of graduate education at DU.

In consultation with the Provost and Graduate Council, OGE is responsible for the authorship and oversight of graduate policy, upholding standards with fairness and respect to all. Position Summary

The University of Denver is seeking an intelligent and independent thinker, with strong quantitative abilities, motivated by being an integral member of a collaborative team to the Office of Graduate Education. As a CRM Systems & Enrollment Analyst, you will contribute directly to the University of Denver’s mission to promote student success by providing the quantitative rationale to make effective, strategic decisions. You will enhance the existing data infrastructure and reporting systems to provide actionable business intelligence. Your work analyzing and visualizing data will support critical business processes and initiatives, including optimizing admissions decisions, strategically allocating financial aid to prospective students, enhancing the student experience with support services, testing the effectiveness of marketing communications, and facilitating long-term planning within the University of Denver’s graduate academic units. You will collaborate with the Office of Institutional Research as well as the academic units to define and identify opportunities to use data to improve the University’s effectiveness.

Essential Functions

  • Enhance existing data infrastructure and reporting systems to provide actionable business intelligence
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams within the University of Denver to identify and define opportunities to use University data to improve efficiency and effectiveness and maintain consistent and clean reports
  • Collaborate with systems and IT personnel to develop and maintain quality assurance/quality control for integrated enrollment, communication, and marketing systems
  • Write and execute queries and API calls against university databases using SQL Server; data systems include Slate, Banner, and Salesforce
  • Develop custom reports and dashboards using Tableau and Slate.
  • Create, monitor, track, and report appropriate metrics on periodic basis
  • Work with key stakeholders on the University Data Governance Committee to develop/refine data and reporting standards for graduate enrollment and student services across campus
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to support other stakeholders within the University
  • Supports the associate provost with business analyses and project development of administrative technology for the University’s graduate enrollment and student services teams in strategic planning
  • Utilize the Lightcast platform to develop reports for market research to better assist the academic units in evaluating current programs and support new program proposals
  • Facilitate trainings with staff and faculty across campus on how to create Slate reports and data quality control

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 years related experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience building, executing and managing ETL process and technology
  • Strong experience with data analysis, using basic statistical techniques, and data visualization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on quantitative skills (e.g. statistics, economics, mathematics, computer science)
  • Experience with Tableau, PowerBI, or similar data visualization software
  • Intermediate-Advanced SQL proficiency. Including joins, correlated and uncorrelated subqueries, and aggregation
  • Proficiency with 1 or more data analysis and processing languages for use in academic coursework or professional setting (such as R, Python, Julia or equivalent)
  • 4 years related experience
  • Experience working in higher education; focused on enrollment and institutional research contexts desirable
  • Experience with Slate, Banner, and/or Salesforce
  • Experience with Lightcast (EMSI/Burning Glass)

Working Environment

1. Standard office environment.
2. Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
3. Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

1. Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
2. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., extended hours occasionally required. This position is eligible for hybrid/remote work.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 10.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $60,000 – $70,000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting.
