PSE’s IT Application Solutions team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Sr App Configuration Analyst position!
Specific details regarding the work arrangements for this position will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.

Job Description

  • Performs independent research within business to resolve business issues and process improvements. Performs functional analysis, requirements, definition and application module configuration and testing.
  • Formulates and defines business scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of business and industry requirements. With this knowledge, develops or modifies complex business process. I
  • Works in all phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.
  • May participate in hardware/software selection, and vendor selection.
  • Participates in project initiation and defines high-level requirements.
  • Participates in business strategies, objectives and drivers.
  • Is responsible for conducting prototypes, developing functional specifications, data mapping, function mapping, setting of configuration tables and setting of transaction/control tables.
  • Has a thorough understanding of the business processes and flows to enable the analysis of business requirements and the development of solutions for the business functions.
  • Is responsible for the identification of and resolution of gaps in the business processes. Involved in security/authorization set-up, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation.
  • Involved in the installation and tuning of modification, as well as archiving data. Ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulations.
  • Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.
  • Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses complex problems, develops and implements solutions in a (specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum) environment. Effectively understands relevant business processes so that they can be modeled in internal systems.
  • Develops and maintains scope and objectives for internal systems requirements as defined by the organization inclusive of (specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum) modules and affected applications, to allow for programming business rules into said systems.
  • Maintains extensive knowledge of their assigned functional area in (specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum) environment, active business processes, business areas, as well as industry.
  • Performs complex and demanding tasks dealing with the analysis, design, configuration, development and implementation of solutions serving business line and functional units.
  • Carries out detailed system design and writes functional and technical requirements/specs, develops test plans and applies testing, and quality monitoring procedures.
  • Provides guidance to business and functional units in developing tests and training plans and materials.
  • Provides day-to-day support to users and to junior configurators, as well as drives improved user productivity through developing and implementing new business process and systems solutions.
  • Proactively contributes to an overall IT strategy via direct experience in tactical projects and specific user requirements.
  • Responsible for the identification of and resolution of gaps in the business processes. Is involved in security/authorization set-up, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation
  • Contributes to annual and 5-year capital IT budgets.
  • Participates at the departmental level in line organization initiatives, tactics and strategies to act as a liaison from the line organizations to IT for continued development of the internal systems.
  • Mentors others, and monitors other business or technical analysts in project software development methods and processes and aligns these processes with project needs.
  • Establishes and manages small to moderate project plans.
  • Demonstrates some ability to lead other team members in functional design and business interaction or small projects.
  • Manages interface activities with middleware systems and processes that connect to core systems.
  • Works to create Centers of Excellence based on best practices.
  • Acts as a champion in standards and methodology governance, preforming code, design and standard reviews for others within the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years IT experience, including several years of systems development experience in the design and development of department-wide or enterprise-wide applications.
  • Detailed understanding and experience: 5+ years hands-on systems experience in one or more (specialized technical requirements as shown in technical addendum) modules appropriate for the job (or other related functional area experience).
  • Possesses full technical knowledge of phases of software development life cycle.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of systems and/or business analysis design concepts. Demonstrated proficiency in the applied use of systems and process analysis tools. Full system life cycle experience, including development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Ability to facilitate interactive design and functional specification sessions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Excellent technical writing and system documentation skills
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and conceptual skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills for smaller projects.
  • Must be a “team player” able to work with management in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems. Able to work with end user groups to define application needs and identify feasible solutions.
  • Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others and a customer-focused service attitude.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to meet objectives and effectively multi-task.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.

Desired Qualifications

  • Customer centric focus with demonstrated ability to apply insights to meet customer technology needs and improve IT maturity
  • SAP System modules and skills centered on PM (Plant Maintenance), but including familiarity with MM(Materials Management), PS (Project Systems), SD (Sales and Distribution), SAP Business Workflow/Webflow, SAP Solution Manager.
  • Knowledge or hands on experience of integration of SAP PM with SAP IS-Utilities (IS-U)
  • Configuration of PM objects such as: Notifications, Orders, Preventative Maintenance Cycles, Plans, TaskLists, Settlement Rules, Equipment, Functional Locations, Measurement Points, Costing Sheets, WorkCenters, BOMs, Compatible Units, Linear Assets, etc.
  • Integration competencies for SAP PM to various core SAP modules FI, CO, PP, SD, PS, MM, WM and related applications such as BW-BI, Prometheus, Mobile Solutions, etc.
  • Familiarity integrating SAP with other applications such as ClickSchedule, Work Manager, Asset Manager, GIS, OpenText etc.
  • Experience with master data governance principles and/or SAP MDG.
  • Experience with HP Quality Center (or equivalent) and the structure of test artifacts (test cases, scripts, results and defects) within the tool. Establishing and sustaining quality assurance processes, practices, methods, tools and controls in support of application and system requirement, development and test activities throughout the software development and sustainment lifecycles.
  • Estimation of RICEFW Objects for all aspects of delivery – Design, Build, Test, Deploy, Stabilize and Sustain.
  • Annual Support Pack and Enhancement Pack implementation.
  • Familiarity with ABAP programming language.
  • Experience with SAP Solution Manager – Business Process Monitoring and Solution Documentation Assistant desirable.

The pay range for this position is $92,900.00 – $163,600.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
