New York Life’s (NYL)Institutional Annuities Department is hiring a Client Service Representative in its Jersey City, NJ location. We are looking for customer-focused, accountable, efficient, and engaged professionals who are dedicated to and guided by a commitment to service excellence.

The Role:

This role provides a great opportunity to learn all aspects of our Structured Settlement Annuity product. In this role, you will serve as the Structured Settlement Annuities Departments front line, working with Structured Settlement recipients and brokers. You will process service requests, financial transactions, and death claims. You will also work closely with our Sales Desk while onboarding new business and distributing contracts. Every day will provide a new opportunity for you to learn, helping you grow and develop with each interaction.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish/Onboard new business in our payout system.
  • Process routine financial and non-financial activity on client accounts with both expediency and accuracy. This includes commission payments and a wide range of service requests from contract holders, such as direct deposit set-ups, address changes, beneficiary changes, death claims, and payment inquiries.
  • Proactively manage assigned caseload and perform good order review.
  • Assist structured settlement brokers, NYL agents, annuitants, payees and attorneys in the resolution of administrative issues.
  • Respond to general written and oral inquiries concerning product features, contract provisions, and administrative procedures.
  • Effectively handle inbound and outbound phone calls and correspondence from/to brokers, NYL agents, and annuitants/payees.
  • Develop positive relationships with brokers, NYL agents, annuitants, and payees.

Training & Development:

Client Service Representatives undergo in-house training to learn about the product, contract provisions, and transaction processing. Coaching and feedback are provided to help you gain the necessary skills for you to be successful.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent and related work experience
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Passionate to help others
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to work and thrive in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Accountable, ethical, good decision-making ability

Desired Qualifications

  • 1- 2 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of annuities, Structured Settlement knowledge a plus
  • Client service experience

The salary range for this position is between $35,000 – $50,000 and has overtime eligibility. This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus and benefits.
