This position is part of the Curio™ portfolio of spacecraft at Lockheed Martin. Curio™ is a line of small spacecraft developed to perform lunar, planetary, astronomy, heliophysics, and earth science and support missions beyond earth orbit. Curio™ leverages the advancements in small satellite technology to enable rapid turn, low cost solutions for missions that would require significantly larger spacecraft and budgets in the recent past. As a part of the Curio™ team, you will be not only developing these exciting technologies and spacecraft, but helping to develop a new way of executing programs that is more agile, more cost effective, and faster than has been done before.

As the Deep Space Curio Electrical Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE), you will:
• Be the technical authority for all electrical issues and approvals for Curio product line of deep space SmallSats
• Lead the design effort of the electrical systems for the vehicles within the Curio product line including channelization, ICD compliance, power modeling, and system integration
• Lead troubleshooting efforts related to the electrical systems for the spacecraft
• Ensure the system is sound technically by applying systems thinking
• Ensure the system is aligned with the larger Curio architecture to save cost and schedule
• Review drawings, analyses, and test productions for technical soundness
• Support the verification and validation effort by helping to determine requirements during the design phase and supporting the verification activities
• Advance LM’s competitive position by leading changes to standard practices based upon the NASA class D mindset
• Support proposal efforts to continue growing the Curio portfolio

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent applicable experience
• Experience with system level electrical design methods and processes
• Experience with creation and review of system schematics, drawings, and ICDs for electrical systems or subsystems
• Experience with supporting electrical system testing
• Demonstrated ability to lead electrical troubleshooting on flight hardware using approved methods and equipment
Desired Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal interface with customers
• Prior Certified Product Engineer (CPE) or Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) experience
• Experience with circuit-level design, analysis, test, and/or troubleshooting
• Systems engineering experience in power modeling, channelization, and/or trades
• Technical experience in Deep Space Exploration planetary space missions, such as GRAIL, MAVEN, InSight, OSIRIS-Rex, Lucy

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $100,400 – $192,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
