Curiosity Guide Job Description
Wage: $13/hour
Shift: 15-30 hours/ week, mornings and/or afternoons. May include Saturday, Holiday or evening shifts.

Summary:
As one of our awesome Curiosity Guides, you will engage with community members in Thanksgiving Point’s various learning programs, including school field trips, Community Outreach, Girls in STEAM programs, and many more. Our team is committed to support the Thanksgiving Point mission of drawing upon the natural world to cultivate transformative family learning by working reliably, resourcefully, and collaboratively with other departments.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with program participants to ignite transformative learning and guide exploration.
- Ensure classrooms are fun, orderly, and an environment that promotes learning and safety
- Engage program participants in play activities to stimulate learning curiosity and foster critical thinking.
- Foster an environment where positive, meaningful experiences naturally happen, and where multiple ideas are valued and explored.
- Model and foster curiosity and inquiry learning skills, like questioning, exploring, testing, refining, and explaining in all interactions with campers.
- Collaborate with other Learning and Engagement staff to develop, evaluate, and refine facilitated and unfacilitated learning experiences.
- Evaluate participant experiences using appropriate tools and methodologies.
- Accept and include all guests as they are and welcome them without expectation or judgment.
- Exemplify and uphold Thanksgiving Point’s Mission, Values and Policies
Requirements:
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative workplace, and to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Ability to work patiently in high-activity, high-energy, noisy environments.
- Experience teaching or facilitating in formal or informal learning environments.
- Experience working with learners of different ages and abilities is preferred.
- Physical requirements include: climb stairs, bend, and stand for extended periods of time, give verbal instructions in English, manipulate small objects, and
- Comfortable working around animals, outdoors, insects, and loud noises.
- Valid Utah Driver’s License preferred.
- Ability to travel for several days preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age.
