JOB TITLE:
Custodian District Lead
JOB GOAL:
Oversee the staff and equipment needed to keep the buildings of the District clean.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- High School Diploma or GED required
- Five (5) years experience in janitorial work
- Three (3) years experience in supervision and training
- Bilingual preferred; at a minimum, the ability to understand and make one’s self understood to all Spanish and English speaking individuals
- Ability to supervise employees effectively and solve personnel problems
- Experience with computers, such as email and work order systems
- Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment as well as floor cleaning equipment
- Proficiency in the use of custodial equipment and cleaning chemicals
- Ability to perform minor repairs and general light maintenance
- Ability to instruct and assist employees in the correct procedures regarding general campus safety
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with director, principal and other site staff
- Ability to organize and plan ahead; must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or vendors.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions
- Must obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 260 days (12 Months)
COMPENSATION: $19.00 – $22.42
BENEFITS: As per District policy
REPORTS TO: Facilities Supervisor
HOURS: 40 hours per week; 1:00 – 9:00 pm
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-exempt
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises all maintenance custodian site leaders and staff, both full time and part-time
- Oversees and monitors the staffing, cleaning, janitorial equipment and supplies at all district sites
- Responsible for repairs on District custodian equipment
- Needs to be able to manage the inventory of custodian supplies at the sites
- Makes sure that all District sites always are maintained to extremely high standards
- Assists in coordinating the custodial staff for Facility Rental events
- Assists in evaluation of all custodian employees as well as performing hiring and termination functions
- Must be On Call 24/7
- Maintains a safe work environment for custodian and customers
- Other duties as assigned

The employee is occasionally required to sit.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
