We have a very exciting opportunity for a Custom Air Handler Business Development Leader to join our team. You will be responsible for building relationships with key sales teams and customers, expanding market participation by identifying opportunities focusing on targeted segments, exploring line extension and/or new product development prospects, developing high growth potential sales teams, large accounts, and vertical markets. You will work very closely with our Field Specialists and become the liaison between those in the field and the factory. You will also become a strategic job specialist by positioning products/solutions for maximum profitability. You will help develop and maintain tools to increase the efficiency and productivity of the Sales Enablement Team as well as the channel and promote our solutions/products while at the same time gather competitive intelligence to help us win by sharing our value proposition and key differentiators to our channel and customers.
You will be responsible for supporting the portfolio’s products, strategy, and roadmaps, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver growth by ensuring revenue, margin and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Business Development’s Leader role also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals.
You will need to be able to lead teams, clearly communicate tasks and manage them to full closure. You will need to be driven to see product growth, be open to challenges, and can influence and communicate the “Success” message to the sales channel so Trane Custom Air Handlers are the first choice when it is comes to Custom Air Handlers.
What you will do:
- Process Requirements – Capable of developing requirements for new processes utilized to rapidly grow market share and expand margin.
- Sales and Marketing – Partner with marketing team to develop and commercialize Trane Custom AHU value proposition. Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
- Customer and Channel Strategy – Capable of analyzing end user and channel segments to identify and target the most profitable segments.
- Lead and grow the customer visits and witness testing program.
- Develop and maintain competitive insights (product and price)
- Lean foundation – Proficient in the use of Lean tools especially A3 and 9 step. Partner with the sales teams developing A3’s to understand business gaps, define goals and metrics, while assisting and supporting as needed to grow the Custom business.
- Business Acumen – Knowledge of principles of business strategy and execution including product/portfolio management strategies, supply chain management and financial indicators.
- Manufacturing Knowledge – Understanding of manufacturing processes that impact product availability, quality, and profitability.
- Financial Knowledge – Understand product full stream financial metrics and levers to quickly identify areas of concern and develop necessary actions to maintain product profitability.
What we expect of you:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field.
- Experience in sales, marketing, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience in the HVAC industry and Lean experience preferred.
Ideally, you would also be familiar with one or more of the following:
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
- IT fluency – Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Base Compensation Range is $77,000 to $161,000
