Description

The City of Cupertino Parks and Recreation Department has positions open at the Sports Center. Shifts will include weekdays, weekends, and holidays. This is a Part-Time Temporary Non-Benefited Position (maximum 995 hours per fiscal year).
Definition:
Under general supervision, receives and accounts for money; performs various clerical duties and facility management duties; interacts directly with the public; performs related work as required.
Essential Duties
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: give tours, sell memberships, collect money, prepare reports, operate calculator, telephone system, copy machine, computers, printers, cash drawer, processes contracts; answers questions and complaints or refer them to appropriate officials, unlock doors prior to scheduled activities; inspects building and report malfunctioning equipment and security measures. Perform final security inspection before securing and locking building.
Qualifications
Knowledge of:
Basic principles of customer service, office procedures and methods, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to:
On a continuous basis sit at a desk for long periods of time, operate multi-line telephone, basic PC experience, lift or carry weight of 45 pounds or less, handle cash drawer settlements, nightly deposits, take court reservations, set up fitness equipment, perform light cleaning and maintenance duties, proficiently use computer programs to check-in members and guests, generate contracts, register participants for lessons, sign up new members, perform point of sale/cash register functions, run reports. Monitor the facility, fitness room, tennis courts and racquetball court reservations, locker rooms, and all other areas and aspects of the facility and grounds. Explain and enforce pertinent city and department policies and procedures. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and
the public. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Education and Experience:
Must be a minimum of 16 years old and possess a valid American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certificate within 90 days of hire.
