As a Customer Service Rep within the Commissioner’s Office at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Job Responsibilities
Under broad supervision, works and communicates with the general public, internal customers and/or external customers to provide information and recommendations targeted to meet customer expectations. Resolves complicated issues involving customer service and/or researches governing policies, procedures or laws to respond to clients or visitors.

  • Analyzes problems, questions, issues, etc and develops and reports recommendations for resolving them
  • Conducts research to compile information needed to generate reports, complete projects and accurately respond to questions and concerns
  • Provides assistance and problem resolution to claimants, employers, staff, other agencies, and/or the general public
  • Researches and/or resolves program or client issues or questions May represent the manager in various matters
  • May serve as a lead worker
  • May train subordinate staff in proper procedures of day-to-day operations
  • Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
OR
Three years of experience in a customer service setting communicating information
OR
Two years of experience required at the lower level Customer Svc Rep 2 (GST121) or position equivalent.
