Job Description
The primary role of the Customized Training Representative (CTR) is to generate revenue via contract training and open enrollment non-credit courses. This position includes managing a budget, meeting revenue and profitability objectives, cultivating new business, building new client relationships, re-directing existing clients to new training/alternate revenue-generating endeavors, managing client relationships, and overseeing training engagements.
Additionally, CTRs are responsible for working with intra-college stakeholders (such as Deans and Faculty) to identify opportunities for collaboration and integration. This includes the development of new programs, creating new courses that can act as a pathway to the Academic Program (credit-based) side of the college.
Additionally, this position focuses on growing the division’s Open Enrollment (OE) portfolio and overseeing annual facilities use agreements.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (expected to have to enter job)
- 2-3 years of experience in the Fire/EMS/Industrial Safety industries.
- Demonstrated success in project and budget management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, e-mail management and Salesforce/CRM software solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with proven success in cross-functional collaboration.
- Knowledge of workforce development sector strategies as it relates to business and education partnerships.
- Ability to work independently and adhere to State, System and College priorities.
- Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects, set priorities, and schedule activities in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
- Ability to present to large and small groups.
- Ability to perform in a team environment to accomplish customer goals.
- Detail-oriented, results-oriented, student and customer-focused.
- Skills in active listening, using questioning techniques, paraphrasing, summarizing and handling objections effectively.

- Demonstrated success in revenue-generating endeavors, with an emphasis on expanding a customer base.
- Knowledge of and experience with sales and marketing techniques.
- Knowledge of education philosophy and practices (adult learning) with regards to program and curriculum development and program assessment and evaluation.
- Understand key aspects of economic and workforce development training.
- Experience in establishing business-to-business relationships and conducting needs assessments for training/business consultation purposes.
- A bachelor’s degree and 3 years of workforce development training experience
