Program Summary:
This contract is a large, multi-year contract providing Cyber Security Services to DISA. The work that’s being done on this Leidos-led, prime contract is extremely important and offers its team members the opportunity to work autonomously and explore new technologies. Job Summary/Primary roles & responsibilities:
Responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including operational reports, contract deliverables, security incident reports, and marketing materials. Collaborates with subject-matter experts and stakeholders to research, develop, format, write, and edit project content and technical documentation, including user guides, process guides, implementation plans, and classified and unclassified reports. Tracks project status; ensures that deliverables meet government specifications and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style; and identifies and implements version control and archiving tools and processes. Creates document templates and formats technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources. Travel is limited to 10% and telework is permitted 50%.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serves as Technical Writer/Editor responsible for writing, editing, and preparing technical reports as well as planning, organizing, researching, writing, and editing program materials, including plans, procedures, briefings, and training materials.
- Works with team members to develop project templates, visuals, content, and references.
- Leads review and serves as point of contact for formal and informal contract deliverables.
- Manages projects, to include tracking project status, organizing review processes, ensuring on-time delivery, and archiving approved copies.
- Ensures that all documentation has the proper format and content, is reviewed by stakeholders, meets quality assurance standards, and is completed on time and updated as needed.
- Gathers information and writes content for proposals and business development materials.
- Coordinates with internal and external customers and task order personnel to resolve comments, provide consolidated reply, and adjust documents accordingly.
- Determines and plans technical report requirements and ensures, through research, that the technical report will meet the intended use.
- Coaches team members on basics of writing and document preparation and serves as a resource for formatting issues.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must possess active secret clearance with ability to possess a TS/SCIto be considered for this role.
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of prior relevant writing experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience may substitute for degree.
- Strong technical writing skills (clear, concise, and complete manner).
- Strong grammar skills (punctuation, spelling, usage).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in effectively formatting technical documents to include writing, editing, illustration, interpretations, and in-depth coverage.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with following DoD standards, interpreting network drawings, writing about cybersecurity, and interpreting operational procedures.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated problem solver willing to take initiative, develop expertise, improve processes, and coach others.
- Strong listening skills to capture the necessary information from Security Analysts and Architects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with DISA and DoD environments and programs is desirable.
- Experience in the following areas: Training, proposals/RFIs, document management tools
Pay Range: Pay Range $75,400.00 – $136,300.00
