Description

General Description

The primary objective of this position is to work with the Chief Development Officer to secure resources (food, time, money, and voice) for DaisyCares from individuals, corporations, foundations, and organizations. The DaisyCares Director will also be involved as a lead for numerous special events, tours and presentations, food & fund drives, cause related marketing, 3rd party events, and other special promotions for Daisy Cares.

About Daisy Cares

DaisyCares is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation created to provide pet food, urgent or emergent funding aid toward veterinary care, and reduce animal abuse through animal welfare education and awareness.

The organization was launched in October 2009 by Ami Gordon in honor of her beloved Yorkie, Daisy. DaisyCares was created to give back the gift of life that Daisy received, and to provide hope to all needy pets and their owners.

DaisyCares founded the DaisyCares Veterinary Care Program for applicants who meet qualification. Veterinary care grants are subject to availability of funding.

Additionally, DaisyCares created the DaisyCares Pet Food Program to provide cat and dog food to families who might otherwise be faced with the decision of abandoning or surrendering their family’s beloved pets.

DaisyCares Project Kindness was created to instill responsible pet ownership at an early age through empowering presentations. In 2017, DaisyCares added Daisy’s Barn as the hands-on component to Project Kindness. The barn houses sheep, goats, and chickens. It is located at the San Antonio Food Bank.

Proceeds from the education program, Promote Animal Welfare Education or PAWedu, benefit DaisyCares programs. PAWedu was created to ensure that measures are taken to establish a community where animal cruelty is unacceptable. For more information visit www.pawedu.com
