General Summary:
We are currently searching for a talented and motivated Sr. Data Analyst to join the People Analytics team. The candidate should have experience building and managing analytics solutions. They should be comfortable with both data visualization technology as well as conceptual Cloud Architecture as they will actively contribute and collaborate to continuously improve the HR Analytics platform. The successful candidate will need a strategic mindset while ensuring day-to-day execution at a tactical level, feeds into the overall vison. The ability to partner in a matrixed environment and work with the broader HR organization to consistently deliver and present well thought out solutions is critical.
As a member of the People Analytics Team, you will be expected to:
- Execute towards the vision for HR BI & Analytics
- Bring a consultative approach to solving business problems with a strong emphasis on Agile practices and iterative design
- Collaborate with business and IT partners to identify key use cases and define associated requirements.
- Able to research, leverage analytics, and convey findings concisely.
- Provide thought leadership, best practices, and standards required to deliver effective and sustainable visualization and analytic solutions to clients.
- Creation and management of end-user facing BI and analytics products (specifically Tableau dashboards)
- Helps define and implement best practices and standards for all HR reporting and analytics delivery
- You will be responsible for the design and development of compelling data visualizations via a variety of techniques including data storytelling, and user-centric design.
- Influence the development and enhancement of the HR Data Lake Architecture
- Standardization of data visualization and exploratory tools with focus on limiting HR organization’s costs while meeting reporting and analytics capability requirements
- Partner with IT on technical design and testing of the For-Purpose (i.e., Delivery Zone) of the HR Data Lake
- Lead and mentor data visualization developers and analysts in information presentation and delivery.
Minimum Qualification:
- 5+ years of experience in data and analytics, consulting, business intelligence, or related discipline
- Experience with data analytics and visualization packages (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, etc.)
- Experience with designing effective exploratory and presentational data visualizations
- Experience mentoring and coaching less senior analysts
- Hands-on expertise with big data and/or cloud data warehousing (Redshift, Snowflake, Azure SQL DW, BigQuery)
- Experience interacting with customers and extracting requirements
- Expertise in standards and best practices around data visualization design
- Self-starter, excellent oral and written communication skills (emphasis on presentation skills)
- Ability to analyze problems and generate creative solutions for challenging issues
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors – Preferred degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems or comparable experience
- Strong business acumen, critical thinking ability, and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of data visualization development, data analysis process- turning information into actionable insights
- Advanced SQL mastery
- Working knowledge of Python

Pay range:
$120,500.00 – $180,500.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
