Data Analytics Analyst

AARP’s Integrated Communications and Marketing (ICM) Group includes Membership, Content and Editorial, Customer Experience, External Relations, Brand Strategy and Strategic Communications. Across paid, earned, shared and owned channels, ICM manages AARP’s reputation, drives engagement and member growth, and showcases AARP’s mission and value through one, integrated voice.

The Data Analytics Analyst collects and analyzes data to develop insights for use in decision-making and setting business priorities. Produces and distributes scheduled reports. Conducts research and analyzes data to develop insights that informs business strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Collects, manages, monitors, and analyzes key performance metrics across all facets of the enterprise with the goal of improving business performance. Works with management teams to develop performance measurement frameworks. Analyzes data and uses analysis to create compelling and actionable data stories to share with key stakeholders to drive decisions.
  • Ensures data and analysis quality and accuracy. Serves as ambassadors for analytics, supporting cross-functional teams to improve and interpret data.
  • Collects, manages, and provides department/division reports. Produces and distributes scheduled reports. Supports and coordinates ad-hoc report requests.
  • Manages data quality. Acts as a liaison with technology regarding maintenance of database systems. Provides support to various projects/analysis by gathering data and presenting results.
  • Evaluates existing engagement programs to identify improvements and to measure outcomes. Analyzes and tests current processes and systems to determine effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collects data, performs root cause analysis of issues or problems, and proposes solutions according to the current and future needs of the business. Assists in the development and delivery of training programs or presentations and recommends program revisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, with preference in a business or economics related field. PMI certification helpful.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in data analytics or analytical capacity linking strategy to measurement.
  • Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate highly complex findings.
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to coordinate across various groups and be proficient at managing multiple projects.
  • A critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and facilitation skills with creativity, adaptability and flexibility in dealing with process or programmatic challenges and options.
  • Proficient in Tableau, MS Excel and other data analytics tools to import data and generate summary reports and visual diagrams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to inform, educate, motivate and work with others at all levels to ensure high performance and achievement.
  • Working experience with AWS-S3 and other large data repository tools.
  • Must be able to work 100% remote.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.

Compensation and Benefits

AARP offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including a 401(k); 100% company-funded pension plan; health, dental, and vision plans; life insurance; paid time off to include company and individual holidays, vacation, sick, caregiving, and parental leave; performance-based and peer-based recognition; tuition reimbursement; among others.

For this position, we anticipate offering a salary between $81,900.00 to $95,500.00 per year. This role is also eligible to participate in an annual incentive plan with a percentage up to 8%. Bonus eligibility is dependent upon organizational and individual performance.
