Data Analytics Manager, SPEAR Operations Support & Services (OS2)

The Amazon Security Special Programs, Evaluations, Assessments, & Response (SPEAR) Operations Support & Services (OS2) team is scaling to support the exponential growth of Amazon facilities and associated security functions. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) with experience in data team management, business intelligence, and data analytics to become a key member of the OS2 Team. As a Senior Security TPM, you will be responsible for leading OS2’s Data & Analytics (DnA) team, deep-diving into data, translating business problems into requirements for analysis, reporting, creating and maintaining dashboards, and driving data initiatives for various Amazon business lines and accounts (including GovCloud). The person in this role will deliver critical business insights for stakeholders to drive strategies, operational metrics, security solutions, technology implementation, business decisions, improvement processes, and visibility across organizations. The position requires international travel amounting to approximately 20% to ensure the delivery of this team’s mission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Deliver data analysis, visualizations, and reporting to senior leaders and stakeholders.

* Ensure that data remains relevant, actionable, auditable, and available.

* Drive enhancements to data infrastructure, improvements in data processes, and data culture growth across SPEAR.

* Analyze metrics, identify risk, highlight opportunities for investment.

As this role supports the AWS GovCloud region, it will be restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. Citizens. GovCloud may not be accessed from outside of the United States.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The basic qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job:

  • Proven experience managing projects spanning cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes from ambiguous states, and maintaining complex mechanisms.
  • 4+ years experience managing technical/data teams or related experience.
  • 4+ years experience in a business analyst/business intelligence/data analyst/data engineer/statistical analyst/technical program manager role or related experience.
  • 2+ years experience with the visualization tools Tableau, and AWS QuickSight.
  • Proficiency with SQL for analysis and reporting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability not required to perform this job, but which make up an ideal candidate:

  • Proficiency in Java (Maxis) and Python.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to analyze quantitatively and problem-solve efficiently.
  • Experience in modern data warehousing techniques (dimensional data modeling, ETL management and programming, etc.).
  • Experience in data science, mathematical modeling, statistical modeling, or related discipline.
  • Experience with AWS Services and products (S3, Redshift, AuroraDB, DynamoDB, Lambda, EC2, etc.).
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s Leadership Principles requirements for this role.
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $130,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $254,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
