All work will be performed at the Headquarters office in Tallahassee. This is not a tele-work position.
Minimum Requirements
- Data Quality Assurance experience
- Web development experience (HTML, WordPress, etc.)
- Business reporting experience (Crystal, Qlik or similar BI software)
- Two years of professional programming experience (preferably Python)

Duties and Responsibilities
This professional position acts as a special projects coordinator, data consultant, systems analyst, business process analyst, web author, software tester and provides internal technology support for the Division and reports to the Bureau Chief of Field Services. This position responds to Division-wide technology needs and special project needs. Performs independent work with a consistently high degree of personal organization, productivity, and professionalism while maintaining a positive demeanor. Analyzes and continually improves business processes and administrative infrastructure to provide optimal core mission support.
Acts as Special Projects Coordinator for the division. Assists with the coordination, planning, testing, implementation and maintenance of projects for the division. Analyzes operational processes centered around large scale technological systems for the Division, coordinates with stakeholders, makes recommendations, implements changes, tests results and documents workflow.
Acts as a backup to the Knowledge Champion for the division. Attends meetings and coordinates technology projects with the Division of Technology. Proficient with the knowledge of technology required to perform duties, which includes but is not limited to computer software and hardware, mobile inspection devices, Versa Regulation Single Licensing System and OnBase document management system. Serves as a point of contact for resolution of division problems with Microsoft Office products. Serves as a point of contact for resolution of division’s often complex technology related problems. Coordinates and consults with stakeholders prior to opening remedy tickets and throughout the resolution process. Integrates use of computer software and desktop or portable hardware to enhance personal and organizational performance, including spreadsheet, word processing, scheduling, e-mail, licensing and internet applications, and other technology required by the department. Provides training and internal support to division staff on the use of technology.
Acts as a Data Steward for the division. Develops statistical reports and extracts using available software to optimize monitoring of division’s plan review, licensing, inspection and other duties as applicable. Analyzes data and reporting systems and provides information and recommendations to department and division management. Performs quality assurance on reports and extracts to ensure integrity and accuracy of the data. Coordinates with bureaus to ensure data and reporting is sufficient to support sound decision making and quality assurance.
Advises on technological issues to improve communications, data resource availability and inspection tools for the district offices and field staff. Serves as a tester for the mobile inspection platform and the primary technical support contact. Supports the division’s iPad test group and KC. Monitors completed iPad inspections to ensure the platform is working as intended.
Acts as a web author for the division. Assists with coordination of Internet and Intranet web content to provide fresh and useful information to division staff and industry stakeholders that supports core mission and promotes regulatory compliance.
Performs other duties as necessary.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic management principles and practices as they pertain to the Division of Hotels and Restaurants. Skilled in the use of software and desktop hardware to enhance personal & organizational performance, (including Versa Regulation, OnBase, SQL querying, Crystal Reports, spreadsheets, databases, word processing, scheduling, e-mail, licensing & internet applications & other technology required by the department). Have a working understanding and knowledge of mobile/iOS devices and products in order to provide direct technical support to field staff as well as identifying and developing new applications for the division’s iPad mobile inspection program. Ability to prepare reports and publications. Ability to assimilate new computer software quickly. Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices. Ability to conduct fact-finding research. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to work independently.
