Data Quality Editor

Position Summary: A mystery shop evaluation, brand standard evaluation, audit, or inspection provide snapshots of how a customer experiences a particular company. Reports and data sets are generated during these exercises. The Data Quality Editor ensures these reports are accurate, consistent, and comprehensive while also checking for and correcting all grammar, spelling, and syntax errors. This is an Independent Contractor (i.e. Form 1099-NEC) role. Taxes will not be withheld or paid on behalf of the IC, nor is the position benefits-eligible.

Essential Duties:

  • Edit project reports for accuracy, consistency, and relevance of content, spelling, language usage, grammar, etc.
  • Listen to audio recordings of audits or mystery shops and subsequently complete necessary reports
  • Communicate with evaluators to expand upon insufficient or clarify contradicting data in reports
  • Validate reports for location and fraud checks
  • Provide clients with actionable insights in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with BARE’s Operations Team on client change requests
  • Communicate specific editing problems to the relevant project teams
  • Grade evaluators on data collection and provide feedback for improving future assignments
  • Other editing assignments as needed and assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or related certifications
  • Three to five years of proofreading or content editing experience in any industry

Competency Skills:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at different stages, with incredible attention to detail, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, efficiency, and consistency; ability to take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work
  • Fluent command of the American English language
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills
  • History of achieving outstanding results with little direct oversight
