Requirements:
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preference will be given for the following:
- Two (2) years of data analytics experience.
- Experience writing and compiling communications on behalf of an agency or organization.
A work sample will be given to qualified candidates.
The anticipated salary is $45,308.76.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of methods of compiling and organizing electronic data and work papers.
- Skill in reading, comprehending, interpreting, and applying applicable policies and procedures.

- Ability to demonstrate a high degree of proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer software programs.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This position serves as a Data Research and Planning Analyst for the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. The data researcher will look at OIR’s data sets to understand the data being collected and ensure that processes and procedures are established to best ensure review, dissemination, and use of market data. This includes:
- Using knowledge of methods for compiling and organizing electronic data and filings, this position serves to assist the business units to review, analyze, and respond to data requests.
- Using their skills in reading, comprehension, interpreting and applying policies and procedures to advanced work, this position looks critically at the data sets and files being collected to make recommendations.
- Based on research and analysis techniques, this position makes recommendations for internal procedures and templates.
- Organizing project files.
- Serving as the point of contact for National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) systems such as TeamMate. This includes performing general reviews of TeamMate files in accordance with the requirements of the NAIC handbook and OIR internal policies and procedures.
- Gaining understanding of the data collection systems and processes to organize files, update connections, perform system upgrades, and migrate data on NAIC systems.
- This position has access to confidential information and performs critical analysis of document and data management processes and procedures.
- Coordinate with the public records office regarding requests for the Property and Casualty Financial Examination Unit.
- Central point of contact responsible for responding to requests for public records received by the Property and Casualty Financial Examination Unit.
- Perform other related work as directed by the OIR.
