The Center for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CDSAi) is the 60-person innovative corporate Analytics group within New York Life, led by Chief Analytics Officer Glenn Hofmann (https://www.linkedin.com/in/glennhofmann/). We are looking to hire a summer intern to support Data Science Learning & Development projects. The internship is from May / June to mid-end August with full time hours (40 hours per week). The ideal candidate is a graduate student in Statistics / Data Science with excellent data storytelling and communication skills with an interest in teaching.
As a member of our team, you will be exposed to real-life use cases of data science and have the opportunity to build a network in a professional environment.
Qualifications
- Graduate student in Statistics, Data Science, or similar field
- Experience with standard machine learning / statistical techniques: GLM, Logistic Regression, GBM, Random Forests, Experimental Design, etc.
- Experience with technical writing
- Experience teaching which could include tutoring or as a TA
- Excellent skills in Python and R
- Strong understanding of communicating to non-technical audiences
- Self-directed and independent
Compensation is competitive. Relocation / housing support will not be provided.
The position is hybrid with Tuesday – Thursday in our Home Office located in Manhattan (Madison Avenue and 27th).
