Meet the team:
We are seeking a highly motivated data oriented, software programmer, and recent college graduate to join our software engineering team in our San Diego, CA office as Data Scientist. You will be analyzing structured and unstructured diverse big data sources to help generate actionable insights for engineering. Your key work partners will be data scientists, customer success managers, product investigators and software developers. You will dig deep into issues and concerns raised by Technical Support or Software Leaders to discover causes. Success in this position is for those who think analytically, understand data, know the difference between assumption and evidence, and who can interface with many different functional groups. If you have a desire to help the many people on this planet with diabetes, and like working independently, this job is for you. This is an opportunity to join an expanding team developing a vital product for a high-growth company. This position reports to the Director Software Product Health.
Where you come in:
- You will support quality with data analysis for CAPAs, HHAs, and process improvements
- You will help automate product health management using cutting edge AI and machine learning analytics tools
- You will help define and manage data governance for software engineering
- You will extract data from multiple data sources and combine data to form new insights on software anomalies
- You will generate ad hoc reports and information for software engineers and software leadership
- Work on abstract issues where analysis of situations or data requires investigation

- Work with marketing, regulatory, quality, engineering, and technical support to resolve issues with the software product
- Communicate to engineering on Product Health issues, Incident Management issues, and Data Management issues

Experience and Education
- Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 0-2 years related experience.
Exempt Salary Details
The annual base salary range for this role is $65,000 to $108,300. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
Workplace Mode
Flex Workplace: Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs. You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).
