About the Role
Our Operations teams work where Uber’s digital technology meets the real world. Around the globe, Strategy and Planning teams serve their mega-region through strategic guidance, thought leadership, and analytical excellence. We consistently evaluate Uber’s business strategy and work to drive governance and accountability in concert with our cross-functional partners.
This is a technical role that will be working with different internal collaborators on building automated processes and tools, primarily in Python. This person will be challenged to be opportunistic in finding new ways to plug in and give to either existing processes or new ones that have yet to be built, more than just automating existing items.
What You’ll Do
– Work with regional partners and local teams to identify and prioritize what can be fully or partially automated, through a lens of saving time and money for the business
– Strong coordination with the other regions (EMEA, LATAM, APAC) on automation efforts and ability to combine and or push to a global level (either through productization, or globally run process)
– Measure impact on automation initiatives to show value and impact on headcount and/or spend efficiency
– Build trust (and clear reporting) with local teams on processes that have been automated that they are working and driving value
– Maintain all previous work that has been built and ensuring timely updates when things break
Basic Qualifications
– A minimum of 2 years of robust work experience in a startup, strategy, operations, or analytics
– Proficiency in SQL and Python
Preferred Qualifications
– Scripting / Coding experience in Python (or strong shown ability to learn fast)
– Analytics / Machine Learning; able to drive concrete value through data and influence partners
– Problem solving – Being able to address issues that involve people, things, and processes by using logic, common sense and data. Identifying the root cause of a problem as opposed to focusing on the symptoms
– Ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment while maintaining flexibility working across teams
– Ability to clearly explain your work and to participate in constructive debate
– Tight-knit partnership and Partner leadership skills – building deep, trust based relationships with territory and cross functional teams
– Experience working within a matrix and multi-country located organization
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $124,000 per year – $130,500 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $124,000 per year – $130,500 per year.
