Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
KIPP DC’s Data Analysis and Student Information teams seek a Data Support Associate to provide a broad range of support in the data analysis, assessment, and student information domains. This role will take on a mix of responsibilities across our schools and headquarters office, and the optimal candidate for this position will be a hard-working learner eager to take on any and all tasks to support our teammates and school staff. This entry-level role will provide a unique opportunity to learn how data work is conducted from the ground up at a relatively large charter school network. This is an exempt position and reports to the Associate Director of Data Analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PK3-12 Assessment Administration Support (40%)
- Support the smooth administration of high school assessments, including but not limited to:
- Ordering, organizing, and distributing testing supplies and materials
- Managing student volunteers to help with the above
- Assisting data analysts and school leaders with day-of logistics
- Assisting data analysts with post-test wrap-up, including preparing for make-up testing and returning materials
- Support the smooth administration of early childhood, elementary, and middle school assessments, including but not limited to:
- Creating user accounts in the testing platforms
- Creating materials for test proctors, such as score recording forms, both in Google Sheets and online testing programs
- Export, transform, and upload assessment data files to our data warehouse
PK3-12 Data Analysis Support (30%)
- Create data collection tools in Google Sheets for teachers
- Update existing data analysis tools in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets as new data becomes available
- Assist data analysts with creating data presentations for school leaders and managing the data platform used by teachers to record attendance, behavior, and family communications (DeansList)
PK3-12 Student Information Support (10%)
- Review student information data and platforms for data quality (e.g., entry and exit codes)
- Assist the team in reviewing and responding to support tickets submitted by KIPP DC staff through our Zendesk platform
- Other support as needed during high-traffic seasons
Alumni Student Information Support (20%)
- Manage data uploads to the Alumni Database and monitor data quality
- Assist alumni counselors with projects to improve the quality and consistency of data in the Alumni Database
- Compile information for student record requests
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Drive, particularly Excel and/or Sheets
- Familiarity with Salesforce is preferred, but not required
- Eagerness to learn and develop skills
- Outstanding project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple simultaneous priorities with short- and long-term deadlines
- Extraordinary attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation and Benefits:
KIPP DC offers an extremely competitive compensation and benefits package:
- The anticipated starting salary for this position is $50,312-$57,765. At KIPP DC we strive for clarity, equity, and to be highly competitive. When determining salaries we look at benchmarks in the education and non-profit sector.
- KIPP DC offers a robust benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurances; various voluntary benefits; and employer paid benefits such as short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, and a membership to One Medical.
- KIPP DC also offers a 403(b) retirement account with a 3% employer contribution and a 3% match with vesting after three years.
- Currently, individuals in this role have up to 15 paid time off days, up to 10 paid sick days, and 12 paid holidays. This is subject to change and your exact schedule will be shared in your offer letter.
- As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families, we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. Schools operate in person and our students and families rely on us for in-person support, and this position will regularly provide on-site support to school teams, frequently partner with other headquarters teams, or regularly work in multiple locations. Because of the nature of the work, this role allows for occasional flexibility. This role will have approximately 20% flexibility to work remotely.
