Sr. Manager, Mobile Device Launch and Lifecycle Management

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, launching and lifecycle managing devices (e.g. smartphones, tablets, wearables, etc.) in the mobile portfolio. Driving the device development process, facilitating product launch activity, supporting supply chain planning and maintaining the OEM relationships are at the center of this fast paced, highly visible role.

Technical knowledge of devices and integrating the device technology roadmap into the portfolio is essential to the role. As the subject matter expert for the area, creating reporting and conducting corresponding analysis of individual products as well as the industry is critical, as is communicating this information to all levels of the organization. Further, device positioning, device pricing strategy and product mix are key lifecycle management concepts important to this role.

Strong passion for mobile products, the marketplace and underlying technologies along with strong leadership, communication and cross-functional team building skills are foundational to the success of this role. Previous experience launching mobile devices and working closely with device manufacturers like Apple, Samsung, Motorola, Google, and others, is critical.

Further, responsibilities include managing OEM quarterly business operations, supporting defect resolution, conducting product validation testing and first article inspections, contributing key intelligence during the quarterly forecast process, and producing daily, weekly and monthly product analysis.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Deep understanding of industry best practices in product development process specific to the Cable or telecommunications space and translate appropriate steps for unique organization and market position.

Collaborative information gathering to translate high level process goals into specific sub-processes with appropriate documentation.

Develop communication plan for stakeholders and process participants.

Proactively identify analysis to support the effort and conduct with deep analytics when appropriate while maintaining an eye toward the bigger picture.

Support the development and communication of Product Strategies dependent on new services/features to drive financial results. Work with engineering, product management peers, marketing stakeholders and key market areas on implementing strategy.

Lead content and product launches and enhancements of products in the two Charter Operating Units to include working with Corporate Engineering, Corporate and Field Marketing and Field Engineering.

Required Education
BS in Engineering or other technical degree related to telecommunications, field or operational / process optimization related field required

Product Development Process – 5-7
Related industry experience (Cable, Telecommunications, Software/Online Services) – 5-7
Product Management and/or Product Development Experience, preferably in Cable, Telecommunications, Software or Web Services

The pay for this position has a salary range of $110,800.00 to $196,400.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
