About the Position:

The USA Cycling DEI and Community Programs Manager is responsible for the strategic development, management, and execution of the organization’s DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), club, and community impact initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to strategy development, resource creation, event planning, event management, digital marketing, email marketing, and strategic communications.

This position reports to the Director of Membership and works closely with a cross-functional team of internal stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development implementation of DEI, club, and community engagement strategies and deliverables on behalf of the organization.
  • Develop and execute club-focused marketing and communications deliverables for the membership team, including the monthly Clubhouse newsletter and other club communication.
  • Work with local organizations and community liaisons to develop and implement community impact programs that introduce cycling to under-represented communities and provide new opportunities for participation.
  • Support, produce, and evaluate clinics and activations that increase opportunities for community interaction and cycling education.
  • Develop and implement turn-key participation programs and resources designed grow cycling on the local level.
  • Develop and implement USA Cycling’s external DEI strategy, setting measurable goals and benchmarks for continual evaluation.
  • Build and launch scalable community programming to drive youth participation and engagement nationwide.
  • Develop and oversee grant application processes and funding opportunities for USA Cycling member clubs
  • Develop DEI and community development resources for USA Cycling’s 1,000+ member clubs.
  • Develop resources and engagement strategies to support USA Cycling’s HBCU and TCU initiatives
  • Assist with DEI and community engagement goals with USA Cycling’s Search for Speed program
  • Work with USA Cycling’s Marketing and Communications teams to develop and promote DEI and community programs
  • Other duties as requested and/or determined.

Requirements:

  • 3 years’ experience in a strategic marketing, communications, or community engagement role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, communications, business, or related field.
  • Experience building, developing, and managing DEI programs and/or initiatives
  • Experience building and developing relationships with community groups and planning events for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and other digital marketing/communications solutions.
  • Exceptional writing, grammatical, and copy-editing skills and the ability to write original content.
  • Excellent project management abilities. Must be able to maintain multiple concurrent projects in a fast, fluid environment.
  • Capability to manage relationships and coordinate projects with external communications contractors (coaches, photographers, writers, etc.).

About You:

  • Strategic problem-solver with the ability to prioritize and delegate effectively.
  • Highly detail-oriented with superb organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude, especially in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to travel (weekend work required).
  • Mission-driven and motivated to work in the cycling and/or Olympic space.
  • Industry experience within the sport of cycling, the Olympic movement, or a related field preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Software Experience:

Familiarity with the following software applications (or similar) is preferred: Marketo, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Asana, and Craft CMS.

Travel:

This is a remote/hybrid position but will require occasional travel.

  • 20-30% travel
  • Occasional weekend work required
  • Occasional travel to the USA Cycling headquarters in Colorado Springs

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time, exempt, fully remote position with a starting salary range of $50,00 – $65,000 annually.
