The NBI team houses prototyping, development and maintenance capabilities for a product portfolio that spans multiple software technologies including wearables, machine learning, advanced analytics, social/mobile, supercomputing, virtual reality, and more. We are looking for talented individuals with an innovative mindset and technical skillset to join our growing team for a 12-week internship to work as part of Innovation & Platforms Product Engineering.
Work You’ll Do
- As a junior team member, your initial focus will be on honing necessary skills to operate alongside product engineers.
- You will also focus on supporting the product engineering group and actively participate in all the processes in a product build.
- We will introduce you to our DevOps tools standards and best practices.
- You will have the opportunity to develop skills in code collaboration and management, concepts of source control, branching and forking code.
- You will build familiarity with IDE’s and the command line, and learn Powershell and BASH.
- You will shadow with a Senior developer to learn how to write lean, maintainable, and well- tested code.

NBI houses prototyping, development and maintenance capabilities for a product portfolio that spans multiple software technologies including wearables, machine learning, advanced analytics, social/mobile, and more. Our team is responsible for designing and developing innovative products that not only augment our leading services practice, and strike at the heart of our clients’ business needs.
Basic Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in progress with a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Knowledge of development environments, preferably building and maintaining production applications professionally
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
- Understanding of Object-Oriented programming
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or any time in the future
- Knowledge of modern dynamic languages such as Javascript, Ruby, Python, and Perl are preferred
- Ability to travel up to 50%

- Ability to understand how technology solutions meet the business outcomes and offer a range of solutions for business partner
- Detail oriented
- Ability to solve complex and often multi threaded mathematical problems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Possesses an understanding of User Experience practices to improve usability and interaction between the customer and product
- Strong team player able to work in an agile (scrum) environment with tools like Jira
- Fast learner
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate is $32/hour.
