Demand Planner – ACD

Job Summary:
The Demand Planner is responsible for generating and maintaining a 24-month sales forecast, integrating into it market intelligence from collaborative partners, and publishing it to be used in supply and financial planning. Collaborate with Sales, Material Planning, and Production while utilizing analytics to create a quality forecast that allows us to achieve the highest level of customer service and quality of inventory. Provide analysis to help develop Sales, Production Planning and Purchasing plans to meet strategic and financial objectives.

Summary of Duties:
• Evaluates shortages and manages prompt solutions keeping appropriate stakeholders informed of any potential problem as required.
• Analyzes demand and plans supply in accordance, ensures efficient and quality execution of requirements and purchasing action messages, manages supplier delivery, quality, and cost performance and improvement.
• Ensures material flow and production activity are aligned.
• Reads and reviews engineering drawings and documentation and coordinate any changes
• Timely follow of the monthly process to develop and publish a 24-month rolling demand forecasts in units and dollars, which becomes the basis for operating plans and financial projections.
• Analyze historical demand, filter out outliers/exceptions, identify the most appropriate statistical forecasting algorithm, develop base plan, understand variance, propose improvement opportunities, communicate consensus, and incorporate demand signals into forecast.
• Manage forecast by exceptions utilizing demand planning tools and reports to identify areas of highest volatility and error.
• Interact with Sales, Purchasing, Planning and Operations to understand and interpret the potential impact market trends and demand drivers can have on demand, and adjust the statistical forecast to reflect those impacts.
• Participate in monthly collaboration meetings with supply chain to review published forecasts, resulting buy plans, and issues/opportunities to optimize inventories and increase sales.
• Analyze forecast accuracy & bias, develop enhancements to improve results, test, document, and re-cycle continuously. Show continuous improvement in forecast accuracy across various lead time lags.
• Report and manage variances of annual, and monthly sales budgets at different levels.
• Champion demand planning best practices and support continuous improvement in the forecasting and collaboration processes.
• Performs work under minimal supervision

Candidate skills & requirements
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in demand planning, business planning, or supply chain planning roles with touch point in sales and financial analysis.
Computer Skills:
• Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001
• MS Office Skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with an MRP system.
Other Skills:
• Demonstrated knowledge of materials planning system (MRP/ERP) requirements, purchase order and manufacturing order generation process logic, and inventory management practices.
• Demonstrated understanding of Material Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, inventory control, purchasing, stockroom operation and shipping and receiving.
• Familiarity with the procurement of raw materials, standards, parts, and commodities related to aircraft lavatory production.
• Effective oral and written communications skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and assignments with attention to detail
• Problem solving, well organized, detailed oriented and accurate
• Ability to read and analyze engineering prints and drawings
