DESCRIPTION
The Union County Auditor is now hiring a part-time Deputy Auditor to work in the Real Estate Division, approximately 30 hours per week. Under general supervision of the Real Estate Manager and County Auditor, issues licenses, collects fees and transfers deeds; verifies accuracy and correctness of all data pertaining to property deeds (e.g., Manufactured Home transfers and file maintenance); assists public with all things related to real property and ad valorem taxation; and utilizes real estate CAMA system. Specific duties require extensive understanding of development, plat design, interpretation, as well as sketching, development timing and layout.

QUALIFICATIONS
An example of acceptable qualifications: Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed below. Preferred: Associates degree in business, real estate or appraisal. Required: minimum 2 years’ experience with real property valuation and economic development processes/documents. Requires interaction with outside developers as well as the County Engineer. High level of experience with real estate transfers, processes, legal document preparation and interpretation. Must be capable of passing a comprehensive pre-employment background investigation. This is a non-exempt, unclassified position.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be willing to seek out and enhance knowledge via CAAO, IAAO, etc.

INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS OR PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee has exposure to chemical compounds found in an office environment (e.g., toner, correction fluid, etc.); occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl on even and uneven surfaces; occasionally required to lift, carry, push, or pull objects 15 1bs. or less.
Note: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered sedentary work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
For purposes of 42 USC 12101:
1) Assists the Real Estate Supervisor with projects, as needed, including new construction, Board of Revision, blueprint and plat management, as well as special assessments.
2) Greets and assists the public; performs all front counter services including: homestead applications, property transfers, processing of estate tax returns, dog tags registrations; and other general services to assist the public.
3) Issues all licenses sold to the public by the Auditor’s Office (e.g. vendor, dog, junk, cigarette); balances and reconciles as needed all receipts (money) daily.
4) Assists the taxpayers with answering inquiries and fulfilling public record requests.
5) Attends meetings and performs other duties as assigned.
