What You’ll Do as a Deputy Registrar Field Representative:
Ohio Department of Public Safety – Bureau of Motor Vehicles/Field Operations/Field Services/District 4 Findlay
Report in location: 8210 County Road 140, Suite F, Findlay, 45840
In assigned territory, oversee, monitor & evaluate assigned deputy registrar agencies by conducting onsite visitations (e.g., checks revenue & document disposition by reviewing end of day reports; complete early/late visits to ensure agency open/close procedures are observed; verify & remove items for return to Bureau of Motor Vehicles’ warehouse to keep deputy registrar agency free of salvage plates, obsolete items & returned items for credit; check to ensure weekly submission of affidavit(s) for missing chargeable item(s) are complete & routed as required; review randomly selected applications for vehicle registration & operator licenses to ensure accuracy & print quality; monitor deputy registrars to assure contract compliance; visually check cleanliness of agency to include floors, windows, counters, equipment, employees, office & parking lot; advise deputy registrars in monitoring their inventory levels, coordinate quarterly inventory projections, prepare inventory order error tracking reports, act as liaison with consignment inventory to resolve inventory issues, approve all interim orders for supplies; transfer supplies between assigned deputy registrars; follow-up on completion of Revenue Management letters, debit memos & correspondence); Complete periodic assignments (e.g., review chargeable & non-chargeable inventory; complete cash audit forms; investigate & write special reports & recommend corrective action as needed; complete site & periodic evaluations of ongoing deputy registrar’s performance used to assist in determining deputy contract awards & to identify training needs) & special assignments (e.g., conduct physical inventory/make assessments upon notification of break-in, agency theft or arson, loss of property & notify & cooperate with proper authorities; take necessary action & process appropriate paperwork to address all deputy registrar changes including relocation of an agency; verify end-of-year inventories; conduct quality control inspections to ensure all procedures & responsibilities are efficiently & timely performed & comply with contract & BMV policies & procedures) & provide training, technical assistance & direction (e.g., offer suggestions; respond to inquiries; resolve/mediate issues; advise of changes in legislation) to contractual personnel in assigned deputy registrar agencies.
Transport &/or install, test & troubleshoot, hardware, software, materials & equipment for assigned deputy registrar agencies (e.g., replace defective/insufficient parts & components; back-up hard drives; make needed adjustments for picture or print quality & signature threshold; disconnect/reconnect all equipment including TV’s & DVD’s; operate all camera & computer equipment as necessary); Complete & maintain required records, correspondence & reports; update/modify selected user/deputy management data bases; Report daily visits by operating DRS terminal or if equipment/system is down, report in by telephone; Operate motor vehicle to transport equipment & supplies; Address all public complaints relative to assigned deputy registrar agencies in assigned territory.
Conduct site evaluations & assist in selection for potential deputy registrar locations (e.g., provides information & input to tenants, landlords & other offices within assigned agency; coordinate & assist in establishing one-stop-shops through cooperation of state, city & other governmental agencies; make routine visits to worksite to monitor project during all phases; provide information, drawings &/or measurements which effect design of deputy registrar agency & location of equipment & fixtures); Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
2 yrs. exp. as office manager or assistant office manager in deputy registrar agency in Ohio; valid driver’s license.
-Or 2 yrs. exp. working in Ohio Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, in position dealing with issuance of operator licenses & vehicle registration; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operation of computer hardware, software & peripheral equipment; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in typing or word processing; valid driver’s license.
-Or 2 yrs. exp. in position involved in reviewing documents for accuracy, completeness &/or compliance with reporting guidelines, laws & rules; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operation of computer hardware, software & peripheral equipment; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in typing or word processing; valid driver’s license.
