Arcadis seeks a Deputy Transportation Engineering Project Manager to support a major progressive design-build LRT project in Los Angeles. The Deputy PM will support the project with the management of the engineering team, assist in project management tasks, coordination with stakeholders, and implementation of project plans.

Role description:
The Deputy PM will support the project with the management of the engineering team. As part of our Program and Project Management team, you’ll help deliver some of the biggest, most iconic projects imaginable, with some of the best talent around. With your energy, agility, and keen eye for detail, you’ll deliver transformational outcomes for multiple clients every day.
Role Accountabilities:
- Design Engineering: Assist with developing complex transportation projects including planning, design and construction for new construction or rehabilitation. Provide direction and input on projects from design development stage through construction stage. Assist with ensuring compliance with program / project design criteria requirements. Assist with stakeholder coordination on projects.
- Project Management: Manage transportation infrastructure and civil engineering projects and tasks (such as roadways, utilities, and rail transit), carrying out assignments with direction from the Project Manager.
- Project Planning and Coordination: Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets. Collaborate with project stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and consultants, to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Project Execution: Monitor project progress and performance against established plans and objectives. Identify and address potential project risks and issues in a timely manner. Coordinate project activities, including procurement, construction, and quality assurance.
- Budget and Cost Management: Assist in managing project budgets and financial resources. Track project expenses and ensure cost control measures are in place.
- Team Leadership and Supervision: Provide guidance and support to project team members. Delegate tasks and responsibilities as needed to ensure project success.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, permits, and technical documentation. Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for project stakeholders.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure that projects adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards. Obtain necessary permits and approvals as required for project activities.
- Quality Assurance and Safety: Monitor project quality and safety standards. Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet specifications.
- Stakeholder Communication: Foster positive relationships with project stakeholders and address their concerns. Facilitate effective communication between different project parties.
Required Qualifications:
- At least 15 years of senior-level experience in the design and project management of transit and civil transportation projects
- B.S. Degree in Engineering
- California registered Professional Engineering license, or the ability to obtain an equivalent certification
Key Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of alternative delivery project implementation
- Experience in design management capacity on transit projects including street running light rail, and street restoration.
- Ability to organize and build multidisciplinary teams
- Proven experience in transportation project management, preferably in a deputy or assistant role.
- Strong understanding of transportation infrastructure design, construction, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex issues and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
Desired Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start date, and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $145,000 – 245,000.
