As a member of our team, you will work on projects related to municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, including but not limited to major treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and critical water reuse projects that will create sustainable and resilient water supplies for the world.
Carollo Engineers is seeking a Design-Build Project/Construction Manager for Private Sector Group water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for planning, on-site management, and supervision of projects being performed with the Progressive and Fixed Price Design-Build project delivery methods.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Manager for key Private Sector Group Design Build projects
- Develop, coordinate and maintain relationships with various industry construction contractors and subcontractors
- Assist with the development of Design Build teaming agreements
- Work with Design Build project teams to develop engineering and construction scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules for projects
- Participate in project dispute resolution with teaming partners and with clients, if required
- Manage and direct construction projects from planning to closeout
- Perform pre-construction planning, scheduling and cost control
- Support cost estimating
- Meet project budgets
- Maintaining project communications including submittals, RFI’s, cost proposals and change requests
- Developing construction schedules in concert with designers, subcontractors, and owners
- Securing construction permits and licenses
- Implementing and monitoring conformance with the project Safety and QA/QC Plans procedures
- Conduct regular progress meeting with the owner, design team, subcontractors, and suppliers, and other project stakeholders
- Prepare monthly cost, schedule, safety, and quality reports for internal and external uses
- Develop and maintain the project risk register and implement mitigations for realized risks
- Review and approve monthly invoices and pay applications from subcontractors and suppliers
Qualifications
- Leadership and management role experience on water and wastewater facilities projects
- Experience with alternative project delivery methods for design and construction – in particular, Design Build At-Risk projects
- Familiar with procedures for Design Build project execution including project controls procedures and practices (cost and schedule) and project performance (profit and loss)
- Familiar with construction cost estimating procedures and practices for Design Build projects
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A team player with leadership qualities
- Experience managing superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers on schedule driven projects
- Experience negotiating “owner” contracts and the buy-out of At-Risk projects, which includes Lump Sum and CMAR when acting as the General Contractor
- Ability to work on multiple interiors projects simultaneously as the General Contractor, while managing a team
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Proficient in Windows based software including Excel, Word, Project, Visio & PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Primavera P6 proficiency and Timberline Estimating experience
Pay Range
$150,000 to $20,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
