Insight Global is seeking a Analysis Design Engineer to support one of our top aerospace clients in greater Salt Lake City. This client provides solutions for the entire product life cycle of an aircraft — from raw material to aftermarket service. These engineers will be analyzing gearbox structures which include integrated lubrication, cooling systems, and the precision of Gear Systems. Engineers will also be responsible for documentation of analysis and failure investigation reports. This role will report through their engineering department. 25% Travel is required.
Responsibilities
* Analysis of precision Gear Systems including Aerospace Actuators, Accessory Gearboxes and Propeller Drives, Power Generation Gearboxes, and Winch Drives.
* Maintain the technical knowledge and awareness of developments related to aircraft drive systems through documentation of lessons learned, process and procedure development, and staying abreast of current technology breakthroughs.
* Work with Project Engineering and Systems Engineering to manage master schedules, requirements documents, and compliance matrices
Required Skills & Experience
* MUST HAVE Aerospace or Defense related Experience
* 3+ Years of Design Experience in Aerospace or Gears, Transmissions, Actuation, or Similar Related Industry
* Experience with High-Speed Rotating Equipment
* Proficiency in Design and Analytical Software Tools (TGS primarily uses Ansys and MASTA)
* Proficiency with CAD Software
* Must Understand the Properties or Protocols of Heat Treatment of Metals.
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
* Must be local/willing to relocate to Park City, UT, Las Colinas, TX, Valencia, CA, Seattle, WA and Macomb, MI
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* Experience with CREO
* Experience with Gear System Design Software such as A B Jones software, PowerGear, MASTA, or ROMAX
* Understanding of properties of gear material and case hardening processes.
* Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
* Analytical knowledge of Reliability, FMECA, RCCA and Six Sigma
* Familiarity with DO160 and or MIL-STD-810
* Advanced Excel skills
* Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
