Work From Anywhere
We believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Some roles which require a greater degree of day-to-day collaboration will benefit from more in-person opportunities. About the Role
Hinge Health is looking for an experienced Design Lead to join the Product Design team.
You will be responsible for crafting Hinge Health’s visual, multimedia and interactive educational content, and how it will be seamlessly integrated into the core product experience of our members. From our rich content library to the computer-vision-enabled virtual physical therapy experience, they will design new ways to illuminate the information that supports our members’ journey to move more, reduce their pain and achieve their goals. They will define new interactive and multimedia content types that engage our members and help drive improved health outcomes.
The ideal candidate has extensive in-house background as a visual designer, helping to establish new visual communication styles and patterns that can extend throughout the member experience, as well as experience designing highly visual and audio-oriented software products. They are a skilled communicator, collaborator and storyteller. They are optimizers and thrive on improving the final product and quality of their initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Conceptualize, refine and present work to design and team leadership, while generating enthusiasm and buy-in for ideas.
- Expand and refine our visual/auditory/multimedia design language and style guide for informational content.
- Work cross-functionally, balancing the needs of stakeholders while elevating clear communication design through experiential storytelling
- Simplify complex health and physical therapy concepts into simple, compelling communication elements
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 7+ years of design, visual and/or multimedia design experience; preferably in a startup, in-house or agency environment.
- Depth of experience in designing for educational products
- A portfolio demonstrating: shipment of multiple products successfully; strong expertise in applying visual design language to help communicate complex workflows.
- Expert understanding of visual systems and practices, including layout, iconography, typography and have a curiosity and eye for pushing visual design in interfaces forward
- Demonstrated ability to drive results/outcomes, not just process.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and project managing your own workload to set deadlines and deliver high-quality work on time.
- Experience navigating high growth, fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication skills to listen and influence.
- Strong prototyping experience at multiple levels of fidelity and helping elevate prototyping quality and utilization across your teams in the past
- The ability to design and document design components at a system level
- Familiarity with user research practices and ability to translate insights into actions
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in graphic design, industrial design, product design, service design, or equivalent experience
BONUS POINTS
- Background in interactive and/or multimedia consumer products
- AR/VR and/or video game design
- Experience designing 10-foot experiences for TV
- Experience building and working with design systems, and ability to extend them to scale products in new and bold directions

$137,800 – $246,000 a year
Consider the range above plus equity, and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
