The Design Program Manager will be responsible for establishing, improving, and scaling the operational excellence of key design programs, operating globally in our ads organization. By coordinating across product, engineering, design, and other business counterparts, this individual will own driving the strategy and improvement of accessibility and usability testing distribution, and program visibility, ultimately closing the loop with our internal and external stakeholders by influencing the advertising customer experience.
Key job responsibilities
• Work with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Legal, Product, Engineering, and Design to develop long-term, durable operating procedures.
• Act as the central point of contact for accessibility and usability improvements to influence org wide roadmaps and feature improvements to ensure timely delivery of priorities/requests.
• Serve as the single-threaded leader for an impactful initiative/program including serving as the point of escalation for customer impacting issues.
• Work in tandem with the Principle User Experience Designers on short and long term business planning.
• Represent, verbally and in writing, complex decisions, tough trade-offs, and potential solutions clearly to leaders to help them understand the decisions that need to be made and what the options are based on data.
• Manage weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational and project reporting to track progress, manage escalations, and continuously drive towards delivery of program priorities.
• Create business cases and rationale to influence product roadmap planning.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years’ program management experience
– 2+ years’ experience managing design-related programs/projects (UX, UI, CX, visual design, user research)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (agile to waterfall)
– Experience gathering and analyzing large amounts of data and delivering continuous business improvements
– Experience escalating issues, anticipating and making trade-offs, balancing business need versus other constraints and maximize business benefit while building great customer experiences
– Experience managing and contributing to project playbooks, building schedules, managing issues/risks, establishing communication plans and stakeholder management

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $192,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
