The story of our organization begins in 1993, when Texas created a workforce development system that made significant efforts to improve service delivery through local control and coordination of services from different programs. On May 23, 1996, Governor George W. Bush certified the North Central Texas Workforce Development Area (WDA) and on July 25, 1996, the Chief Elected Officials of the 14-county WDA signed a partnership agreement forming the North Central Texas Workforce Development Board and selected the North Central Texas Council of Governments as its fiscal agent, grant recipient and administrative agent. Our WDA includes Collin, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell and Wise counties.

Description of the Opportunity:
We are searching for a Workforce Research Analyst to join the team! The Workforce Research Analyst is responsible for performing data analysis necessary to meet agency regional planning objectives of local and regional workforce programs. This is accomplished through an understanding of demographic, economic, and development data along with the tools and techniques necessary for investigation of the data. Participation, convening and coordination with local and state officials, regional groups and stakeholders are necessary to accomplish short and long term planning support for the department. Other duties include completing departmentally specific projects and serving as an Agency and Workforce Department representative.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Responding to all data requests by defining questions and methodology for surveys, statistical studies, interviews and focus groups to collect data about our customer’s needs.
  • Providing tailored market information to ensure all provisions and consultations needs are met.
  • Providing data-driven decision-making support by researching, evaluating and analyzing a multitude of qualitative and quantitative sources to identify workforce trends impacting the organization, region and customers.
  • Supporting decision-making and maximize the organization’s impact by educating staff of potential service gaps through comparison of internal performance with regional demographic and workforce trends.
  • Providing economic analysis, technical information and synthesizes research findings into best practices and guidelines to assist in the development of reports, policies, nominations, or grant proposals
  • Reviewing and analyzes the impact of legislation, regulations, and policies to anticipate organizational impacts.
  • Conducting futures thinking (scenario planning, trend forecasting, data analysis, and strategic foresight and/or futurism methodologies) to ensure organizational preparedness, relevancy, and resiliency

Required Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Compensation:

  • $70,000.00-$75,000.00 – depending on skills, qualifications and experience
  • FLSA: Exempt
