Sr. Design Program Manager
About the Team
The Walmart design team creates experiences and designs the websites, tools, and mobile solutions for millions of customers and associates. As a part of the recently established Design Operations team, you will be responsible for enabling the delivery of best-in-class experiences that drive continuous improvement and innovation at the world’s largest company. As Sr. Design Program Manager with Walmart Design (US), you will play a critical role in building out this Design Operations function and setting up the structures and processes that enable the team to do its best work. This role will contribute to the development of a new program management function for the broader Walmart Design organization and support the growing Walmart Connect initiative.
We are a “show, don’t tell” type of team and are looking for a resourceful self-starter with strong communication skills to help build a great Design Operations function to support our growing team. You’ll make an impact by:
- Solving problems big and small with curiosity and openness.
- Working horizontally across the growing Connect initiative to drive efficiency in the delivery of design work and continue to elevate craft as we scale
- Leading the development and ongoing evolution of our program management framework that will streamline how the Design team prioritizes work, allocates resources, communicates to partners and reports to leadership
- Tracking ongoing work across the Connect initiative to ensure milestones are being met
- Partner closely with Design lead(s), product owners and engineering partners
- Creating flexible processes and contributing to building a great design culture in the team and beyond
You’ll sweep us off our feet if…
- Demonstrated track record of 5+ years as a Design Program Manager or a deep background in Design Management
- Experience working horizontally with cross-functional teams across multiple initiatives in a large corporate environment.
- Exhibits strong thought leadership and understanding of the design process – especially inclusion, empathy, and experimentation.
- Deep Airtable expertise and familiarity with change management best practices
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Exhibits high level of craft and empathy for end users
- Demonstrated ability to operate at a strategic level while also effectively executing on near-term priorities

The annual salary range for this position is $112,000.00-$192,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
– Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
– Stock equity incentives
Minimum Qualifications…

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 4 years’ experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area. Option 2: 6 years’ experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area.
