Primary Objective
The Diesel Hydraulics Mechanic will oversee all shop activities and a business partner to the operations team to ensure that the maintenance of all company equipment is being completed in a safe and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on diesel trucks and hydraulic machinery.
- Oversee fleet compliance by ensuring daily inspections of all company vehicles that are governed under the Federal and State regulatory agencies (Federal Motor Carrier, CHP).
- Track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
- Properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments.
- Manage the financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
Key Requirements
- High School Diploma and/or GED
- Diesel Mechanic Certification
- Must have at least 3+ years relevant experience managing the maintenance of heavy equipment and trucks.
- Experience working with vehicles (gasoline and diesel) Class A CDL is a plus.
- Experience working on construction equipment a plus.
- ASE or manufacture’s certifications a plus.
- MS Office skills.
- Customer service attributes.
- Exposure to electrical hazards, chemicals, standing on concrete, and uneven or slippery surfaces occasionally.
- Works inside & outside within all elements.
- Able to travel to job sites as needed for emergency repairs.
