The Digital Department is responsible for growing the EMILYs List online community, engaging that community in the critical work of electing Democratic pro-choice women to office, and raising significant funds online to support the work of EMILYs List.
The Digital Fundraising Director is responsible for building and developing an online fundraising powerhouse through email marketing, SMS fundraising – broadcast and P2P, and digital advertising.
The Digital Fundraising Director is a member of the Digital Leadership Team who works across EMILYs List to ensure best practices in digital strategy are leveraged to advance the organization’s priorities.

Essential Job Functions
- Developing a strategic fundraising program to optimize growth and donor lifetime value through email, SMS, and digital advertising in collaboration with the VP, Digital and Deputy Digital Fundraising Director;
- Set strategy and priorities for the EMILYs List broadcast and peer-to-peer SMS programs and edit and approve content;
- Conduct, analyze, and share findings of regular testing to identify the most effective strategies and messages;
- Work with fundraising consultants to provide strategy and projections management;
- Manage the Digital Fundraising Team with the Deputy Digital Fundraising Director to ensure quality across the digital fundraising program, set workflow priorities for the email team, and to direct email strategy;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience leading successful digital fundraising program for a campaign, committee, or digital firm;
- Expert knowledge of online fundraising, ads, SMS, and email best practices;
- Strong project management, strategy, and managerial skills;
- Strong email writing and editing skills;
- Advanced knowledge in using eCRM technology;
- Candidates should be able to handle multiple projects at once, work well under deadlines, and understand that the internet and politics are not always a 9 to 6 kind of job.
$90,000 – $112,000 a year
The salary for this position is $90,000 – $112,000 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package.

Our office is based in Washington, DC and this position is based in the DC office with a hybrid schedule requiring at least 3 days per week in office.
