Position Summary:

Digital data is one of our pillars to drive New York Life into a data centric company and we are part of a fast-growing team to advance its digitization strategy. Our team serves as steward and custodian of digital health data to support key insurance functions. In this position, you will have a unique opportunity to have an impact on the future growth and operations of the company through the development of key strategic capabilities for New York Life. You will join a team focused on leveraging digital health data to enhance the customer experience, increase efficiency of operations, and improve the underwriting risk assessment.
We’re looking for a passionate, experienced outcome-driven Senior Associate to support and grow our Digital Health Data team. In this highly visible position, you will:
- Have an opportunity to work with a rich portfolio of health data from various industry sources
- Partner with cross-functional teams to design, develop and operationalize data strategies and provide health data subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders
- Develop and explore new use cases with health data to support New York Life innovation
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and operationalizing new strategic solutions and capabilities to improve customer experience and business operations with collaborating with Technology, Data Science and Underwriting stakeholders
- Conduct data profiling to derive meaningful insights into data features and quality. Collaborate with technical resource to perform remediation of data quality issues
- Create and maintain clinical data marts to support data retrieval and aggregation to ensure usability and integrity
- Proactive in achieving results for program goals and finding opportunities to improve processes
- Perform data analysis to support the identification and prioritization of business requirements and rules
- Support decisions with key insights, data analysis and effective presentations of important factors driving the program management
- Develop presentations and data visualizations to synthesize and communicate complex data analysis to various constituencies
Qualifications:
- Self-motivated, with very strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- Collaborative work style with ability to effectively interact with and earn trust of peers and leaders
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and driving the realization of project goals and completion of time-bound deliverables
- Deep knowledge of Excel and advanced PowerPoint skills required; experience with process mapping (e.g. Visio) and analytic/visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, SQL)
- Understanding and knowledge of healthcare vocabulary, terminology, and code-set values
- Ability to stay organized and multi-task with excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills
- Effective judgment, critical thinking, time management, communication and writing skills
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years, or master’s degree and minimum 3 years of experience in roles across data analysis, and program management
- Experience with healthcare interoperability of clinical data formats and standards such as HL7 preferred
- Hands-on experience with data transformation tasks including validation, cleansing, normalization, and aggregation
- Hands-on experience analyzing healthcare data required. Experience analyzing clinical data strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile framework / methodologies
- Consulting experience strongly preferred
