Our team is responsible for communications and marketing projects that advance the mission and strengthen the brand of the IU College of Arts and Sciences . We focus on College-wide initiatives, including brand development and management, user-focused website development for our departments and programs, and recruitment marketing strategy and products.
The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest academic unit at Indiana University Bloomington. It is composed of 40+ departments, 50+ Centers, Programs, and Institutes, while also including the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design, the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies, and The Media School.
Faculty in the College teach over 50% of the Indiana University (Bloomington) credit hours and the College occupies about 1.3 million square feet of space in 80+ buildings on the Bloomington campus.

Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Creates a variety of content creation tasks including writing, editing, and copyediting to maintain a compelling, rich, and relevant information environment for the College and its departments and programs
- Works with the Digital Marketing Leader and the Director of Communications and Marketing to determine project assignments and deadlines
- Obtains, organizes, and manages visual assets, permissions, approvals and other necessary aspects of content development and management
- Works with the Web Content Management System (WCMS) , Salesforce, LiveWhale, and social media platforms to design, produce, and display content for the College’s digital marketing email campaigns, websites and landing pages, social media posts, and other digital communications
- Provides support to departments when appropriate and necessary
- Creates reports that help the office assess the performance of digital marketing campaigns using Google analytics and other data tools
General Responsibilities
- Independently develops and executes basic strategic marketing plans for a department or functional area within a department to advance goals and objectives, including data collection and market research, target market definition, development of project timelines, sourcing of promotional materials, and marketing content creation
- Responds to inquiries and requests from stakeholders and explains information regarding policies, procedures, and programs
- Manages relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, and acts as a collaborative resource in curating marketing plans to relevant initiatives, groups, events, and programs
- Regularly researches relevant subject matter to increase knowledge in area(s) of specialty, including information on various marketing channels (print, online, electronic, email, social media, and direct mail)
- May participate in team-based marketing planning to align strategies and deadlines across various concurrent projects and initiatives
- Collaborates with users of various software programs and creative platforms to create and deliver content and marketing materials in multiple formats to a variety of audiences
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, English, public relations, or related field

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
