Devereux/TCV Community Services is Hiring Immediately for a Full Time Direct Care Worker in the West Homestead Area to work evenings and weekends!

Starting Wage of $15.74/hour to $18.25/hour

Position Type: Full-time, evenings and weekends, 37.5/hour workweek. Days off will be Mondays and Tuesdays.

What to Expect: TCV is currently seeking a dedicated and responsible person to fill our full-time Direct Care Professional role in the West Homestead area.

Direct Care Professionals play a critical role in fulfilling the mission of TCV by providing assistance and training to individuals with intellectual disabilities in our residential locations. We are looking for people who believe in a strengths-based approach, and use positive practices to help guide their everyday activities. All required on the job training and education will be provided by TCV. The Direct Care Professional position is designed to:

  • Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual disabilities and specialized care in daily living, social, and recreational activities.
  • Provide support and assistance to foster maximum independence and choice of individuals.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the individual support plan.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the individuals.
  • Assist and encourage individuals to engage in various activities in the home and community.
  • Administer medications (upon completion of certification; all necessary training is provided).
  • Assist/perform needed cooking, housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • Observe individuals’ behaviors and changes in physical condition, utilize prescribed strategies to assist the individual, and document and report accordingly by keeping accurate logs and records for each individual.

*Prospective employees hired for a full-time sign on bonus eligible position will receive the first third of the total bonus after the successful completion of three (3) months of employment. The second third will be awarded after the successful completion of six (6) months of employment, and the final third will be awarded after achieving a “satisfactory” rating or higher on the annual performance evaluation.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver’s license & MVR history with three (3) years of driving experience.
  • PA state criminal history and child abuse record. (For those who have not been a resident of the Commonwealth of PA for the past two [2] years, an FBI clearance will also be required).
  • Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred but not required.
