The Opportunity
As a dedicated Director, Accessibility Operations you will ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act and other federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to persons with disabilities. Leads a team in the development and execution of policies, procedures processes and standards in compliance with ADA accessibility requirements. Collaborates with operational and executive leadership to set strategic direction and develop strategies and business plans that provide equal access to individuals with disabilities.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Phoenix, AZ, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is available for this position.
What you’ll do:
- Provides consulting related to ADA accessibility/accommodation requirements, policies and processes.
- Completes operational planning/reporting/departmental updates and acts as the primary point of contact for Accessibility.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement by partnering with key stakeholders and developing mitigation plans that reduce risk and improve accessibility.
- Coordinates, manages and promptly addresses accommodation/accessibility requests including tracking and documenting requests and actions taken.
- Maintains and manages a dispute or issue resolution process to timely and effectively address complaints or matters requiring attention.
- Builds and maintains a high performing team and provides continuous coaching and feedback; identifies and continuously develops future leaders and provides work direction, performance feedback, and encourages self-development.
- Leads collaboration with all CoSAs to understand, develop and integrate business requirements with Accessibility solutions.
- Provides business leadership to ensure operational, regulatory and legal/compliance risk mitigation.
- Evaluates and audits program and process effectiveness to identify trends, opportunities for improvement and understand program value; develop risk mitigation or intervention strategies to remediate any identified problem areas.
- Builds and maintains strategic business plans and roadmaps in alignment with strategic direction including key performance indicators or metrics and the supporting processes and change plans to ensure success.
- Ensures effective vendor management including managing request for approval processes, ensuring service level objectives are met and invoice accuracy.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 8 or more years of experience in developing, implementing, and executing ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) programs.
- 3 or more years of direct team lead or management experience required.
What sets you apart:
- Experience designing, implementing and managing large-scale Accessibility programs at a financial institution and/or insurance company.
- Strong technical acumen related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III and WCAG requirements.
- Risk management experience in assessing, identifying and reporting operational and compliance risk.
- Experience with executive-level presentations, escalation and effective resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership, vision plans and multi-year technology road maps (operational and strategic) and execute against plans to deliver results.

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $115,240.00-$220,270.00.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
