What You’ll Do
The Director of Account Management leads a team of Account Executives and Client Relationship Consultants in our South-Central Region, which covers Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. In addition, they partner with Sales Reps to achieve office sales and retention goals. This role takes a very “hands on” approach and needs to be willing to take very tactical actions to get things done. The successful incumbent is comfortable both leading and influencing their team, peers and supervisors in day-to-day relationships.

- Frame problems and solutions from a broad, strategic perspective.
- Define expectations, establish goals, and mentor the team.
- Assisting your team on sophisticated service issues, negotiations, retention, and renewals.
- Collaborating with the sales team on additional products and services.

Who You Are
- Bachelors degree or eight years of equivalent experience, and 6+ years related work experience required (account management experience and/or experience working directly with ancillary or medical products strongly preferred)
- 2+ years of direct management or leadership experience strongly preferred
- Acquire and maintain all required state licenses, as outlined by the Principal Financial Group within 90 days
- Advanced knowledge of group benefit products required
- Requires an in depth understanding of departmental operating procedures, guidelines, and systems
- Develop relationships and empower team behavior
- Must have excellent persuasion, organizational, problem solving, decision making, time management, presentation, listening and oral and written communication skills, as well as advanced analytical skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential
- Travel required (20% – 40%), including overnight stays
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range
$117600 – $159600 / year

Location
This role will be filled in Dallas or Houston, TX. This role allows for a hybrid work environment where you will be able to split work time at home and in the office. You will be required to go into the office 2-3 days per week.
